I did it while in HS...girl was ecstatic, her mother was pissed. All that happened was we went to college and broke up and I got it back. Now i'm waiting to trade it in like 6 years later when I want to buy myself some jewelry again, like a watch. Biggest waste of money ever, and dumbest idea ever created imo. You don't need to "be engaged to get engaged to get married." You just want to show everyone that she is taken imo, which you shouldn't need to get a ring fr.
