  1. If you trade a car for another car even up how much would you list the sale price as on the title? Could you list it at zero so you would not have to pay sales tax?

  3. it varys in every state. some states go off of book value. most states, however, only charge on the difference of the transaction.. So sales price 5,000 and trade price 5,000 = 0 diff and 0 taxes. but, you will usually have to county fees and the obvious registration fees and title transfer.
