  1. Okay, so currently im on the lookout for a new driver. I currently play with the Ping G10 and love it. The obvious choice would be to go for the G15, i know, but i'm just looking for some advice from the masses on what might be a better choice and maybe a few opinions from some that may own the G15. I play off 16 but im not hugely knowledgeable about this shat. Kthxbai
  2. First of all, why do you need a new driver if you love your current one?

Anyway, I guess if you like Ping you should try out the next generation one, i have a taylormade burner and like it alot, i also like the newer cobra drivers as well.
  3. I loved my old one, until an accident at the driving range put a dent in the face of it. The shaft has seen better days too. Thanks for your input though, agreed the new drivers from cobra look decent and the mizuno mx700

  4. I always tell someone to go to a Demo day. Hit ever driver there and see which one you like. They usually have tons of clubs with diffrent shafts, that way you can see how you hit each club with diffrent flex points and diffrent types of flex.

But whatever you decide, good luck.

  5. Get fitted for a shaft. It's more important and will benefit you greater than any expensive new head will be.

It's not the head its the shaft.... :o
  7. new cleveland launcher ftw
  8. If you love it, it mostly goes straight and long and there isn't anything wrong with it why change?

Is the extra 2.5 yards your going to gain REALLY worth it?

Just use what works for you and don't worry about having the newest equipment, guys who do that usually think they are a lot better then they are.
  9. I gotta agree ... why fix something that's not broke?

Since the new G15's came out you should be able to get a great deal on a new G10 and spend the extra money to have a pro fit you for it and get the proper shaft/grip.

I think you would be much happier having a custom driver that you already know you can hit than getting a brand new base model.

But at the same time if money isn't an issue and you can drop the dough on the G15 and get it custom fit don't let anyone here stop you!
  10. I play the Callaway FT-5 and love it. There may be newer technology out there but this club aint leaving my bag anytime soon
  11. If it is made by a company that you have heard of and cost more than $250.00 chances are its a good driver
  12. Taylor made drivers are used by many pros on tour and i know a lot of golfers in general use them too. Theres got to be a reason for that right? I have a cleveland Hibore and i like it but its your call....why dont you demo drivers and see which one you like more?
  13. don't take any stats from the tour.

Ping use to pay tour players $10 000 a tournament, to just put a PING Driver in their bags. That way, for that year, they were able to put the "Most Used Driver On Tour" Stat with their propaganda.

Like most people have already stated, don't fix something that isn't broken. You have a relatively up to date club, which should do you fine for the time being, especially at your handicap (not a put down, just saying). Working on chipping/putting would be more beneficial for yourself, as would a 3 lesson pack.

All drivers now are made relatively the same. Same materials, all hot off the face, maxxed out M.O.I, maxxed out bounce of the club head face, all trying to move the weight to the back of the club.

Until a new "revolutionary" thing happens in the golf industry, a Driver is a Driver. Use one you're comfortable with. Don't go blowing your $$$ on a new fad.

    On that note.

    TAYLORMADE TOUR BURNER TP ftw.
  14. Thanks for your input girls and boys. I think a new fitted G10 is the way im gonna go since i can get hold of one brand new for $170.
