  1. I'm making a trip to Seattle from August 10th to 17th visiting a friend and seeing the city.

Hence my question for the locals in OT, what is good in Seattle? Any info would be very appreciated!

    Restauarants?
    Events?
    Sightseeing/toursity sites?
    Activities?
  2. I always go to the curiosity shop and see the mummies and piglet with 3 heads. Also the Virginia inn has good beer. It is a few blocks up the hill from Pike Place market at First and Virginia.

While your on 1st ave.. might as well walk a few blocks south and check out "the cowgirl experience"(kinda like coyote ugly hot chicks during slutty stuff on a bar)

Dreamgirls has 2 locations on 1st ave and are full nudity and give you what eva u want in the vip room... quite cheaply to be honest.
  4. Was just there for a weekend, experience music project was overrated and expensive, would avoid. Went to a few great restaurants downtown, Black Bottle, Restaurant Zoe, and macrina cafe for brunch. That's about all I got.
  5. Heroin.
  6. Krokodil

Cowgirls is terrible don't go there....

Go to fremont: Paseo's cuban sandwiches, gasworks park, and great nightlife downtown...

If you are on capital hill check out the Cobra Lounge (best hookah bar in the state by far), big marios, mo bar...

For daytime activities hit up Pike place, gasworks, and try and catch a sounders game if you can..

Night time, Space needle ( if you don't mind spending), great views from upper queen anne or gasworks(if you don't wanna spend), and Fremont, ballard, capital hill bars in that order.
  8. Touristy:
    Pike Place Market
    Seattle underground tour
    Space Needle

    Restaurants/food:
Salumi(Mario Batali's dad owns, killer sandwiches, mole(not the animal) pepperoni)
    Tat's(deli sandwiches)
Spring Hill(finer dining, best burger in Seattle, ranked)
    Tilth(same, duck sliders=the shit)

    Mariners in town?

  9. Seattle has some sick sandwich places. Paseo is the stone cold nuts. Most people go to Fremont, but the one at Shilshole is better in the summer because it's pretty much at the beach. Salumi is also amazing.

Lots of sushi joints, by far the best is Mashiko in West Seattle, order the omakase (chef's choice) and be prepared to spend at least $100 a head but the food is unreal.

If you know anyone in Seattle who has a boat, see if they do Duck Dodge on Tuesday nights. It's a pretty casual boat race on Lake Union that ends with all the boats rafting up together and people walking from boat to boat drinking, seriously good times.

There is a Sounders game at QWEST (or whatever they are changing the name to right now, Century Link or some such) on Saturday the 13th at 1pm. Every game sells out with 36000 fans, the crowd is nuts (sit in GA for the full experience), and it's a hell of a lot more exciting than Mariners games. If there is a Mariners game that day, pretty sick double though.

Tons of good Happy Hours. I like El Gaucho in Belltown, for one. The International District has lots of awesome Asian food.

I agree that the EMP is overrated and overpriced, but it's not every day that you have a chance to see the ugliest building on Earth.

Look up Bumbershoot, a super cool music festival. I'm not sure of the dates, but I think you're sadly missing it by a week or two iirc. If not, go.
  10. mariners/red sox 1pm 8/14 safeco field

  12. Underground tour is beyond stupid. They planted so many objects down there to make it look like stuff was still there when they built the new city. Lol corona buckets.
  13. Or just go to Pioneer Square and bar hop till you can't see straight
  14. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!

I was there one time just for the weekend to watch the Bills play the Seachickens. We did the Square thing it's pretty cool you pay once and then can go into all the bars. We ran into Thurman Thomas at that lil reggae bar (my one buddy was a huge Bills fan and wanted to shake his hand) Thomas was injured at the time so he wasn't playing that weekend he was upstairs chilling wasted out of his mind. Was kinda funny to run into him at such a small bar.
