  1. Watch here

regarding political ads featuring terrorism to get votes. Essentially comparing some Republican ads to a higher budget version of Bin Laden and others videos.
  2. Yeah yeah yeah -- politicians are scumbags and the GOP has done some disgusting stuff. Where does that rank on the world's list of problems for Keith Olbermann? VERY HIGH. Where does it rank for rational human beings? I would hope somewhat lower.

I urge all you Olbermann people to read some stuff from the other side of the spectrum -- non-hysterical, rational evaluation of what is happening in the world. Please read "America Alone", asap. check out www.thereligionofpeace.com and steynonline.

It's time for American Democrats to stop blaming George Bush for everything. I will STIPULATE: Bush sucks, in many many ways.

But look at Darfur (slaughter of millions by the janjaweed), Nigeria (chruches bombed, christians slaughtered), Thailand and the Phillippines (weekly murders of Christians and buddhists), Paris (more riots yesterday), London (tube bombings, etc.), Australia (gang rapes, imams calling women "meat"), the West Bank/Gaza (suicide bombings, rocket attacks), Toronto (plot to behead the PM), Bali (nightclub bombing), Danish cartoon riots/murders, obv 9/11, 3/11 in Madrid, and on and on and on -- what is the common denominator? Karl Rove? Bush? NO. The problem, directly and irrefutably, is radical jihadist Islam. Jihad jihad jihad jihad jihad jihad jihad. They are getting bigger and stronger; we get weaker and weaker, fighting about Mark Foley and global warming and whether Hillary CLinton had plastic surgery as the jihadis plan their next massacre.

We have to work together in the West or everything we have built and that we treasure -- whatever that means for you -- will die. That includes poker, sex, drinking, atheism, and everything else Keith Olbermann likes. If you think the jihad is not your problem, you are wrong. It is. We can disagree about which party is more likely to find the solution, but it's critical that we agree on the problem.

  6. You make some good points. And while I agree that the West has to work together, radical jihadist Islam is not the problem. Their role in terrorism is merely a natural occurrence in a world dominated by capitalist democracy. There will always be a struggle for power, and if there is a way to hit us (i.e. hit, run, and hide), it will be conducted.
  7. Radical Islamic Terrorism is a serious problem.

How does it stack up to some of the problems we have faced in the recent past? In my opinion, it's not even close.

The Soviet Union: A superpower with lots of nukes. At one time, their leader came to the UN, pounded his shoe on the podium, and declared that they would bury us. That seems like a pretty big threat. We won.

Nazi, Germany, Italy, and Japan: The original Axis of Evil. Very nearly took over the world. Pussies.

You're telling me that after defeating those threats we should be afraid of a small percentage of Muslims whose primary tactic is killing themselves and taking out some of us with them? Sorry, but I don't buy it. The reason they are using terrorism as a tactic is that they can't use anything else. Their only hope is that we are afraid of them and change our policies because of fear.

Fuck fear. Fuck terrorists. And fuck the GOP for trying to use fear to win an election.
