Dont make them anymore, they switched to the 335i in 2007... I highly recommend this car as I currently own it. If yyou go Bimmer then you have to go sports package, its a must

Thank God someone came in and talked some sense.

The corvette is exactly about what this thread is about SPORTSCARS. Yeh the title is under 50k but honestly with few upgrades and not too much more $ this SPORTSCAR ("for rich no taste people") lol could take on the SUPERCARS of the world that are in the 200k range (ie. Ferrari, Lambo, etc) Those are the real cars for no taste rich people. And dont get me wrong id love to have one of those cars but those cars are the true rich mans car that one buys just cuz they can have it and the image of money it represents
Obviously I'm a little biased because I own a Vette but some of those responses were quite entertaining.
I'm so glad that Corvettes put me in the white trash category.
And here I thought I was just driving the best performing car I've ever owned... -
I bet it looks great out front of your trailer

Loooooooooooooool
But for reals, the problem with the corvette, is the same as the Audi s5 or the BMW 335i
I'd have to get the absolute base model with nothing added on to afford it. I guess I could always just wait. -
boss 302> camaro ss> challenger srt-8
also boss 302> gt500 -

Why does it have to be brand new?

New car smell.

Because I think it's a bad idea to go buy a used car with 40k miles on it. You're gonna lose the warranty, you're going to need to replace a car with 40k miles on it sooner than one with 0 on it. (willywoo sarcasm is right) New car smell is awesome. Buying a used car over a new is nowhere near as financially advantageous people believe it is. -
No one said it has to have 40k miles on it to be used. A year or 2 old vehicle with 20k or less is findable for sure and usually significantly less. The amount a new car depreciates just basically coming of the lot is stupid. Its not a terrible thing to buy used. And like I said not talking about 3+ years with the 40k+ u are talking about.

And its not like there is something wrong with a car like that. I know a couple people who are so anal about cars and want everything new regardless. Yes they have money to do it but they wont keep a car much longer than a year or 2 max. Those cars are gems and when you find them it would be stupid not to buy it. -
Affording a 50k new car does not mean you can afford a 50k used car
50k new car = 37k used car that's two years old with 25k miles on it -
Edited By: Diggity D Nov 27th, 2011 at 10:42 PMAt 50k you could pick up a 2010 550i, or a 2011 535i (which is the new F10 style) with like 14k miles on them and still have 2-3 years of BMW's maintenance program.Originally Posted by dolphin13

I'd highly suggest you go rip around in a 550i w/msport.
Idiot. -

Know much cheaper do you think a 50k new car is after 2 years and 20k miles. I'd bet it cost more than you'd think -
S4 is v6 supercharged now, s5 is v8.
Audi would be my choice by alot -
Dolphin, did you get my PM? (don't worry, it isn't a hate-pm or anything, It's just some helpful info about various car stuff to help with your car searching). Lemme know if it went through or not, if it didn't, I can re-send it
-
Yeah. I was gonna respond after the games. Your PMwas longer than Consumer Reports review of every new car put together. I'll pm you in a bit
-
lol true
-
Get the Corvette and you might get laid some day.
-
I rarely like caddi's that one just posted is no exception. I've never owned an Audi is it more expensive for oil changes, other maintenance? I would say Audi over most of your choices, but not a TTS, even the A4 looks sporty enough to recommend it over the TTS, all I can picture driving that car is a 55+ yr old lady.
-
Not sure if you already made a choice, but I'd rather go with a loaded model than a bigger name that's completely bare.
If you can barely afford the base Corvette, I'd take it out of the running. Focus on models where you can get all of the options you want so you have not only a nice car, but a lot of the good options too.
GL -
I have a 350Z and love the fuck out of it. Can't imagine the newer models are too far off. Audi's are by far my favorite car on the road but wouldn't take a TT over a Z. Not really into muscle cars but a friend has a brand new decked the fuck out Camaro and it's pretty goddam badass.
Agree w/ the CTS-V though. Would gladly trade my car for one if I absolutely had to have something 4 seasons. Those things are sick nasty. -

Feel free to add in any other sports car under 50k if you think it's worthy.
And feel free to editorialize.
Edit: no used cars :)
not really a vette fan but its fast. I prefer cars that handle well at high speed and can go long distances. The audi is great for 50k miles then they have issues. The bmw is really my choice for driving fast on highways but the audi looks badass. The bmw is a drivers car plus they pay to fix anything including oil changes for 50,000 miles.
Wheres the lexus's and infinitis?
63k new tho. -
is the bmw 335i considered more "manly"then the 328i ?
if you had to choose a 2009-2010 bmw 335i with 25k miles on it or a chevy corvette 2006-07 with 30k miles on it which would you choose?
Im also worried about re-sale value when i plan on trading the car in 4-5 years from now on would the chevy lose alot of value on resale as opposed to the bmw -
The 2010 BMW, and its not close.
