  1. This story is several years old but I don't think it has been told in OT. Cliffs at bottom.

My dad is on the phone with my grandma (his mother in law) and I don't think anything of it. Five minutes later he comes into the living room and tells my brother and I that my grandpa died earlier in the day. Not crazy shocking as he was getting old and has had some health problems but obviously still very sad especially because we were pretty close.

My dad then calls my mom and gives her the bad news so she rushes home from work. When she gets home she is visibly taking it quite hard as she is crying and basically acting like anyone who found out their dad had just died. We all have a short talk about how sad it is etc and start thinking about making the 4 hour drive to where my grandparents live. It is decided that she and my dad will go immediately to help my grandma emotionally and with the funeral arrangements. My brother and I decide we will go there once a funeral date is set.

My mom is basically running around franticly trying to pack and what not. At this point she still hasn't talked her mother so decides to give her a call. She gets on the phone and the first word she says is "Dad?!?". I think she is having some sort of mental breakdown but no her dad did actually answer the phone. Just imagine what was going on in her mind.

Well... apparently my grandmother told my dad that some great uncle of ours had died and not my grandfather. My dad does have bad hearing but how in the hell do you misinterpret that? He obviously felt like a complete jerkoff and apologized dozens of times to my mom. It was such a weird situation as on one hand we were so happy that my grandpa isn't dead but on the other it is an awkward feeling due to the fact that another family member has actually passed on. It may be morbid but we do laugh about it now.

    Cliffs:
My dad gets phone call notifying us of my grandpa's death
Mom calls grandma and dead grandpa answers
Grandpa didn't actually die but another family member did

hell yeah, dead grandpa humor was what the show was based on
  7. The best episode was when Roeper was eavesdropping on the kids through the drainpipe and heard them talking about Chrissy's wart, but he thought they were talking about a pregnancy. Hilarity ensued that fine day, my friends.
