Going to see King's Speech tomorrow. Heard it's good.

Unknown's plot is apparent from the trailers and the start of the movie but damn is it enjoyable. Aside from the oscar contenders it's the only decent movie in theaters. A movie ticket is like 100 bucks on a friday night though so save up your cash for Battle:LA
-
so yeah the rite is my best bet? im a fan of those types of movies, it only has a "b" on yahoo. but shindler's list is my all time fav with quiz show, red dragon, and silence of the lambs a close second. im just worried its too much like the exorcist
-
well no desire to see the swan, well at least paying for it, look into the rest though
-
if you're going to watch the black swan at all, watch it in the theaters imo. do aronofsky some justice.
-
well not gonna watch it, unless there is a some good reason to see it, id rather see the rite. i guess i should say this too, those gay blockbuster movies i hate, twister, jurasic park, fail........titanic i avoided for a while, but it sucked, and no im not a complete asshat, graphics great, actors, fail, i heart the good actors and a good plot cuz i figure out most movies fast, im not one to go to the movies, but we aren't getting into this.

i actually share your sentiment, i hate the same type of gay blockbuster movies as you do. but black swan is not your typical hollywood crap imo. gotta admit, i first refused to see it after hearing what it's about (movie about ballet? fukoff), until i realized that it was directed by aronofsky. really, that guy makes awesome movies. i never enjoyed watching movies until i watched requiem for a dream.

Roger Ebert gave The Rite 3 stars and gave The Fighter only 2 1/2, so it can't be that bad. Of course, he also gave Gulliver's Travels 3 stars, so who the hell knows.
-
do u have netflix? if so i recommend "kidulthood" its available to watch right away
Edited By: Jwilkinson Feb 24th, 2011 at 02:28 PM
if u liked "kids" u will like this... similar movie but takes place in England i believe -
I'm assuming Unknown is pretty much Taken 2?

The Black Swan Theory or Theory of Black Swan Events is a metaphor that encapsulates the concept that The event is a surprise (to the observer) and has a major impact. After the fact, the event is rationalized by hindsight.
The theory was developed by Nassim Nicholas Taleb to explain:
- The disproportionate role of high-impact, hard to predict, and rare events that are beyond the realm of normal expectations in history, science, finance and technology
- The non-computability of the probability of the consequential rare events using scientific methods (owing to the very nature of small probabilities)
- The psychological biases that make people individually and collectively blind to uncertainty and unaware of the massive role of the rare event in historical affairs
-
I vote for true grit if it's still out
-
You're obviously going to see The Rite...If you're into those types of movies, you'll enjoy it.
-
The Rite wasnt too bad
-
Ever since his face left him he's been such a shill for movies. Can't blame him though, if you're going to be that ugly might as well be rich.
