  1. Where are all of my OT Reds Fans? Pitching and hitting incredible right now. Yes, I know it is only May, but damn it, Im excited.
  2. Cueto and Bailey can be a potentially lethal 1-2 punch in the future. Not sure bout the offense.

  5. ive havent been this excited over reds baseball since 1999. i think we got the best defensive infield in all of baseball. nice to see Jay Bruce putting all his talent together. johnny Gomes doesnt have the track record for being a great hitter for an entire season but is playing great now and hope he can keep it up. Stubbs maybe the only liability offensively but hes doing better. we still got edinson volquez and chapman that could be late season additions to the pitching staff. idk if they get in the starting rotation but they could end up being bullpen guys to help out.
  6. Whenever Chapman is due to come up, Harang needs to be dealt, sent to AAA, possibly kept on as the long reliever, or outright released. Seen him pitch against the Dodgers earlier this year and he got lit up. Going to need at least 1 more bat, especially 1 who can play Left Field. Maybe make a trade for Carlos Lee if they're still in contention come July 31? Yes, it is a division rival, but I'm sure the Astros would like to get something in return for him considering he's only going to play maybe 3 more years at the most.

I'd like this rotation if it can pitch quality start after quality start (after Harang gets removed from the rotation)...

    Cueto

    Arroyo

    Bailey

    Chapman

    Leake

And with the solid bullpen behind them, expect more of these low scoring, 1 run margains of victory (or defeat). Least they're finally built like a winning baseball team should be built, with pitching & defense combined with timely hitting, and not the left handed hitting power show with no defense and horrendous pitching, especially the bullpen.
  7. i'm trying to keep from getting my hopes up until the all star break. their schedule is fairly brutal for the 3 weeks leading into teh break, so they should be able to pull off their patented mid-season fail. if not, then i'll start getting excited.

  8. as long as gomes keeps batting like he has so far this season they dont need another bat unless its centerfield.

there not gonna get rid of Harang. he has had 2 horrible starts earlier in the year. the rest have been average but i think hes fine to keep in the bullpen as a long reliever.
  9. I picked the Reds to win the wildcard in the preseason thread and got flamed hard for it (even by Reds fans)

With Gomes (Getting hot - comes up clutch), Rolen, and Votto swinging the bat they way they are, they just need their pitching to stay consistent. Phillips and Cabrera have also been playing well. Maybe the second place team in the west gives the Reds a run for the wildcard, but I think they got it.
  10. I'm the biggest Jay Bruce fan there is

  11. As a big-time Cardinals fan, I am kinda secretly glad they are doing well (although I won't let my Red fans buddies know this) but Rolen is the man, no matter what anyone says.

He's an asset to any team (Philly is just retarded and classless like I have posted previously). Glad to see him get that 2 run pinch hit homer this afternoon, too.
  12. gogogogogo reds!!

    ROOOOARRRRRRR
  13. ill bet even money that the cards have a better record by the end of the season. theyre a full game behind so youre getting value!

  24. Road tripped 7 hours to see St. Louis battle Cincinnati last Friday. Another stadium crossed off the bucket list. And Albert didn't disappoint either. 29. Yea the Braves announcers were saying he could probably be the best 3rd baseman or shortstop on the team.
