  1. Found this pretty fascinating. You've prolly heard about the big minnesota twin study (about twins raised apart) a while back. Here's a book review about it.

some stuff was standard, like they grew to the same height (shocking lol) but some was pretty wild, like both liking religion (even different ones. "Spirituality" may be a better word) and:

"The IQs of separated identical twins are almost as similar as their heights. Critics of intelligence research often hail the importance of practice rather than inborn talent, but a three-day test of the Minnesota twins' motor skills showed that how much you benefit from practice is itself partly an inborn talent."

I think most of us like to think nurture has more to do with it, not only to avoid the "those people has inferior genes" part but also because we can affect the nurture part. Nature having a bigger role seems to reduce our independence and ability to change/improve. imo
  2. in b4 niptuck tells how hard he nurtured.
  3. Of course it is. Non religious people were killed or died in famines.
  4. genetics trumps nurture 100% of the time for conservatives
nurture trumps nature 100% of the time for liberals
  5. Interesting article. Gonna check out that back.
  6. good read

I tend to believe its a healthy combination of both that make up the person

because cons don't talk about family values and religion all the time? or because libs don't always classify by race 24/7? not sure if serious

I actually watched a program on this last night dealing with mice. They have found the gene responsible for learning and starting tampering with it. Creating mice that can learn faster or mice that are incapable of learning at all.

This gene is also in humans.

    Was pretty damn interesting.

  9. how is it that there are more openly atheists in the US now then ever before if it's genetic though?

A:Ancestors were liars for fear of persecution
B:As we advance scientifically, more people are seeing the falacies of theism
    C:The devil is winning
