It is a basic human right to properly protect yourself.
-
funny how its always the people who are the biggest burden to society that are the ones who riot and generally just fuck up wherever they are living.
-
It's shocking that the people who have nothing and therefore nothing to lose destroy what doesn't belong to them in the first place and have no respect for other's personal property?

Not to defend looters and rioters, but after reading some of the (now edited, ty mods) sentiments ITT, I can see why all of this is going down -
I like your posts, but disagree on this one. I dont think europeans are bothered at all by how extremely difficult it is to obtain a firearm there. I would go as far to say that they are actually happy with that fact (discounting gun enthusiasts).

I am glad my neighbor owns a gun in Lithuania. I live in a safe area, but I am glad someone that is trained in use of firearms and that I know has my back is nearby if there was a problem. I am glad I do not own a gun since I don't want to cause an accident which in my case is more likely than helping if a problem came up.

I was just kidding posting from the crazy American who thinks owning a gun is a God given right angle. Lots of them around here/in America

^^^ I had a feeling you were just joking around
And I sure am glad MY old neighbor in holland does not own a gun, lol. I feel you though. It's just that the fear of situations where you'd need a gun is such an irrational fear there. Most people would think that a locked door, a golf club, and maybe a dog would be enough security.Originally Posted by wackyJaxon

Pretty sure if you were allowed to own guns and protect your property, people wouldn't be running rampant burning and looting. imo.
-
They're lighting police stations on fire? is UK just waiting for the rioters to tire themselves out? fucking shoot some motherfuckers.
-
you'd think if the rioters take the night off that the police could set up some better type of defense system or be more effective in neutralizing them
i'm sure the IOC is watching this and wondering wtf type of country they got themselves involved with -
Edited By: wackyJaxon Aug 9th, 2011 at 05:21 PMThere have been countless riots and lootings in the past in major cities in the US where people are allowed to own guns. A few of the most famous examples are:Originally Posted by XquiziVex

Cinci - 2001 - Riots caused by the police fatal shooting of 19-year-old Timothy Thomas
Seattle - 1999 - riots relating to the WTO conference.
LA - 1992 - Police officers acquitted in Rodney King case caused arson, rioting, and looting.
NYC - 1977 - Blackouts caused arson and looting.
Chicago - 1968 - MLK assassination reaction caused arson and riots.
Newark - 1967 - Rumors that turned out false caused already heated race related tensions to cause a 6 day riot
Detroit - 1967 - Riots and looting related to excessive police force
LA - 1965 - Race related tensions caused rioting.
NYC - 1863 - Civil War draft resentment relating to those with money could buy their way out of the draft. -
I bet there are some crazy Americans who thinks God wrote the Constitution. Fortunately, most of us know God did not write the Constitution and fortunately for Americans, the drafters of the Constitution had the foresight to expressly recognize the inherent right of a person to own a gun or guns.

It stopped being about that pretty early on. Now it is just people jumping on the bandwagon being dickheads -
Let's read it together.
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
I suppose you might also want to read the Supreme Court cases interpreting this Amendment. If you did you would probably conclude there is an individual right to keep and bears arms, not just as a part of a well regulated militia, if that is what your point was. -
Kicked off in Manchester now. Cant believe this has spread to so many major cities. Its madness.
-
You try this in America and you get a rubber bullet upside your head, some tear gas to breathe and a swooping bullet proof shield across your stupid fucking face. Just sayin...
-

-
cops wont touch these idiots as they will be the ones who end up in court, we live in a fucked up society.
