Thank You for someone besides me posting about this today! Spread the word everybody! Educate yourself on the candidates. IF you are for Hillary Clinton, then I doubt I can change your vote, but Ron Paul is the only real shot at beating Hillary. Take a look at the head to head polls!
On a lot of gambling sites, Paul's odds are improving by the week (or day)! Definitely check him out if you haven't! -
He will nt even finish top 3 in any state . Giuliani or Romney . Ron will be done by feb 15th

Ron Paul raises more than $3 Million in 18 hours
The only U.S. presidential candidate openly opposed to the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA), has raised more than $3 Million dollars in just 18 hours, this November 5th. And the day isn't over yet.

Interesting read, but why this?
"In the past, I introduced legislation to repeal the so-called “assault weapons” ban before its 2004 sunset, and I will oppose any attempts to reinstate it."
Assault weapons are for war, not for hunting & they are on the streets for use by criminals, drug dealers, etc. I can't see how anyone would be for the general public owing assault weapons unless it was for a genuine gun collector. -
Romney believes that the American Indians are Lamanites (descended from a lost tribe from Israel) and came to the United States after the resurrection of Jesus. I do not think it would be a good idea to let him set foreign policy. Lot’s of Mainstream Christians will not vote for him because he is a Mormon.
Giuliani is for abortion, on his third marriage (one to his second cousin) and is in favor of tighter gun control.
I really don’t think either Romney or Giuliani will get much support from the Christian right who compose most of the Republican party.
Ron Paul is the obvious choice, and the only real Republican running. -
I have to admit that I have watched a lot of youtube runs of debates and interviews with him on various political shows. He pretty much steals the show after laying out his views... I agree with him on a lot and he has a lot of democrats interest as well. Pretty much he is a follower on the original constitution on the basis for his views. Only problem I have is his immediate with draw in Iraq.. just don't think it's that easy to fix that mess. Foreign policy has got to be the best out of any candidate. If he can generate any interest outside of the internet I think he could make a strong run.
-
I couldn't bring myself to vote for a republican, but if I had to choose one it would be him. I hope he gets the nomination because I think he has a smaller chance of beating a Dem than Giuliani.
-
I hope Republicans are not serious with Giulani... maybe repubs from the Northeast... but I hear no mention of him in the South. McCain has been coming up a bit, and that is because the hype from Fred Thompson has died down.
-
Ron Paul is the Democrats favorite Republican. If you ask every single Dem which republican they would vote for, they all say Ron Paul.
-
How does his chances really fair? We all know how much hype Dean got online last election and we see where that got him.
Does he really have what it takes to rally the money and support to make a legitimate push for president? -
*sigh* I wish McCain could win the nomination, but I know he has no chance. =(
-
Ron Paul's chances are about as good as me going on a date with Jodi Albert.

The Associated Press has just posted a news article mentioning ron paul raises 3.5 million
Paul as of Monday had raised $6.3 million since Oct. 1, more than half his goal of $12 million by the end of the year, according to his Web site. -
the people that keep hammering the whole "Guiliani won't get suport from the Christian Right" are the Democrats, because they know that he is the only shot at beating any of the Democrats. The pro-Dem people think that if they coninue to say something, it will come true.
The reality, in my opinion, is that even if the "Christian Right" doesn't want Rudy now, the realization that anyone else is drawing dead in the general election will get Rudy the nod.
As for Ron Paul, he is of the libertarian mindset that everything happens in a vaccuum. After he took office and got us into the 1920s isolationism mindset and shit falls apart all over the world, we'll be in even worse shape with an an even bigger mess to clean up. I mean, he claims things like "you won't need the IRS if you don't go fighting expensive wars." I like the idea of Ron Paul, but he's just way out in left field with the things he'd like to do, and not the answer for a time when we (rightly) are and will (rightly) continue to be involved in world affairs. -
I bet half of it has come from gun lobbyists
-
What is wrong with having guns?
The people who are certified to have the fully automatic weapons have to go through hoops to obtain them. THey have to be registered, etcetera.
If you are for a ban on guns, then only criminals will have guns.
People who want to responsibily have weapons, should be allowed to. Don't punish those responsible people who want to carry. -
If you like having rules in place before people can own guns, then Ron Paul is not for you.
-
well, there is no provisions in the constituition restricting ownership of weapons as far as I know. Until there is, he's just trying to carry out the constitution.
I only have one disagreement with his policy on gun control:
"I also recently opposed H.R. 2640, which would allow government-appointed psychiatrists to ban U.S. veterans experiencing even mild forms of Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome from ever owning a gun. " -
Interesting read, but why this?
Google the numerous websites that set forth his positions.
It shouldn't take you too long to figure out why he would take this position.
Thank you.
You believe in gun control. He does not, If that's your issue, vote for someone else. At least you know where he stands. -
god don't me started on this. where do you think criminals get their guns? They steal them or buy them from some idiot who doesn't run a background check because he wants $$$. If there weren't any assault rifles around no one would have them and there would be less gun crimes.
-
Totally agree, and if we elect Ron paul, you'd be able to go into walmart and pick up an m16.
-
BS, very few gun crimes are committed with assault rifles, most gun crimes are committed with hand guns. The assault rifle ban was a joke. You could still buy a AK47 post ban, it just could not have a bayonet mount and flash suppressor. So called assault weapons only account for about 1% of gun crimes. If all assault weapons were to disappear, it would account for a one percent drop in gun crimes, provided that the person committing the crime would not use another style of gun.
-
His energy/enviorment record is a joke
Voted NO on criminalizing oil cartels like OPEC
Voted NO on raising CAFE standards; incentives for alternative fuels
Voted NO on prohibiting oil drilling & development in ANWR
Voted YES on barring website promoting Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump
Rated 5% by the LCV, indicating anti-environment votes -
congress would have to pass a bill to make it legal to sell automatic weapons in walmart.
what are your other beefs with RP? -
To turn this into a gun control post is a farce.
Paul is in favor of indivdual rights and liberties as granted by the Constitution. That includes the right to own guns as well many other rights.
He is also opposed to the waste, excesses and corruption which currently exist in the federal government.
And just for last4ever, he has promised to eliminate the Department of Education and return control of education to local communities.
Paul tells people exactly what his positions are. Go ahead and diasagree. At least you know where he stand. -
he has also promised to eliminate homeland security department, fbi, and the cia.
-
thank god for congress.
My main beef with RP is his stance on environment and abortion.
