  1. with a possible move to France (medical reasons) I got the French Rosetta Stone. I am told by a few people that if done properly you can learn this in a MONTH? is this too good to be true or what. would like to know some experiences of others who have tried it. Sucesses, those who gave up , and why... and the like.

    ty for your posts.

  2. I am almost done with Japanese level 1 and I still can't tell how beneficial it's been. I studied Japanese for a year in college, and then after 3 years away from it moved to Japan to take a job teaching. I bought it before I went and now 2 months later am about to finish. The first couple units, were all review and in that respect I feel like I picked up the language again quickly. Now however, is newer stuff and I am retaining some of it, but can't tell how much is due to Rosetta stone and how much is due to the insane amount of studying/private lessons I am taking after. If nothing else, it forces you to be exposed to the language and that can never be a bad thing. I think in combination with other things, its a great tool. I can't imagine it not being worth the cost...
  3. yikes@ trying japanese. hopefully maybe why its harder for that language is due to it being SO far different than english(letters especially) gl with it, i mean i wish to learn a few more lang. but prob wont attempt that one cause of its learning curve has to be THAT much greater. props for doing man and gl.

  4. Haven't used RS but did use a BBC version for Spanish. Most of them are quite good but you'll only get out of it what you put in. You're not going to learn the language after one listen and without real speaking practice you can forget about it.

Put the work in and yes you'll pick it up but you're not going to be fluent in a month, thats just silly.

thanks for being a part of the study. g-day.
