I should probably watch schindler's list one of these days.
  7. It is well done. If you have any interest in it (which you probably don't since you haven't watched the movie yet) the book is good too. Not a bad idea to read the book first
  8. The matrix overshwshank redemption????

    I don't even...
  9. I watched Schindler's List earlier today because I realized it's been so long since I've seen it (I know... awesome Christimas movie). I'm pretty sure it's my favorite movie from the '90s. I'd vote it over Shawnshank and Pulp Fiction all day.

Also... I figured The Fugitive winning 75-1 was a fluke and thought it stood no chance at advancing any further. I guess people like it more than I thought.

    Viva the rebellion.

Though the case could be made that The Matrix effectively changed how action movies were made, and took the idea of perceptual reality and cognition out of the realm of just twilight zone/outer limits episodes.

  16. Listen my brothers, hear my plea. If we do not stop Shawshank here I fear it may be too late. Don't do it for me, don't do it for yourself, do it for the next generation who will be able to break free from the constant inundation of Shawshank as the best movie this, best movie that. End the legacy of Tim Robbins, right here, right now. Alone we are weak, but together our unity makes us strong. Do not falter, do not doubt, take this chance to change the course of OT Internet ranking history.

American Beauty's title run will be less impressive if Shawshank gets upset
  21. Just looked at Roger Ebert and Martin Scorsese's best movie from the 1990s

They each picked a movie not in the 64 listed in the original thread

We'll start spreading propaganda once the film reaches the elite 8. that'll sway the voters.

"Ellis Boyd Redding released from prison. Kills two in a drunken driving accident. Last seen in Fort Hancock, TX."

"Brooks fucked a 12 year old boy."

American Beauty will get slaughtered. Not Tom Brady in the 2007 Superbowl slaughtered, but pretty damn close.

Hoops Dreams - Ebert's pick for best of the decade - is also from 1994, joining the stellar class of Pulp, Shawshank and Forrest Gump. All four were released within four months of each other.

Neither of those have a shot against Shaw Shank. Brave Heart isn't going to come out of the South anyway, Pulp Fiction is.

I would be somewhat shocked if Pulp Fiction beat Braveheart.

Braveheart..much like Shawshank appeals to everyone almost....movies like pulp appeal to alot of people but there are those certain sets of people who dont like it too much.

I know this OT crowd is young and likes movies like pulp fiction but i still think braveheart wins.
