    It's forty years from now, and most of the coaches that we all know and love today have passed on to their Better Reward.....Eddie Sutton, Bill Self, Huggie, Tubby Smith, etc. Today, Roy Williams arrives in Heaven.

    God takes Roy on a little tour of the place. They jump in a beautiful gold Cadillac, with God at the wheel, and cruise through a neighborhood of attractive homes bordering a golf course. "There's Eddie Sutton's house," says God, as he points to a beautiful 10-room home painted black and orange, with OSU flags fluttering in a row down the long, luxurious drive. "Wow, that's nice," says Roy.

    "And look over there: that's Tubby's place." God nods towards a beautiful blue 10-room home with a gorgeous lawn of Kentucky bluegrass, and Kentucky flags festooning a long beautiful drive. "Very tasteful," says Roy.

    One by one, God points out similar homes belonging to coaches, all in beautiful settings. They finally arrive at Roy's house, which is also a beautiful 10-room house, pale blue, with Tarheel flags lining the drive, just as beautiful as the rest. "Gee, it's gorgeous," Roy says.

    They get out of the car, walk up the steps, and Roy oohs and ahs over the house. But as he stands on the steps admiring the lawn, for the first time he notices the mansion across the street. It's huge and luxurious--at least 50 rooms, and is painted in crimson and blue. It's surrounded by the most beautifully landscaped lawn that Roy has ever seen. But what really catches his eye is the larger-than-life-size bronze Jayhawk statue on a 6-foot tall granite pedestal, and a huge line of KU flags lining the longest drive that they've seen all day, and it's paved with pure gold bricks.

    "Hey, God?" Roy asks tentatively. "I don't mean to seem ungrateful, but why do Eddie, Tubby and I get 10-room houses, but Bill Self gets such a huge gorgeous mansion?"

    "Roy," says God, "that's not Bill's house: that's MY house."

    yep...I understand it, but I have friends in Kansas that would say the same thing about Roy Williams....

    No shit, it's not like he was Lou Henson. Self was here for like 4 years. He got a better offer, and honestly I'm glad cuz Weber took his players and almost won a NC with them. Dollar Bill is better suited where he's at although I'd love to have him recruiting still in Champaign. UI would have Collins Scheyer Wright Rush Gordon and Rose if Dollar Bill was here.

    LOL - Traitor? Like Illinois has a team or the tradition to keep a coach from leaving for KU or any of the other 50 jobs better than UI.

    Oh I apologize you're right a couple years of success should put Illinois with the likes of Kentucky North Carolina Duke UCLA Kansas - quick call Roy he'll jump ship and come to Illionois in a heart beat

    Do you not read, I said Self had the team at the time of his departure. The same team that lost the Championship game. Self could do what he does at any school as I said earlier if he stayed at UI he'd have every single guy that has left Illinois in the past three years, plus Eric Gordon, Derrick Rose, Rush etc etc. Illinois is a stop through for the elite coaches, and it sucks but Self hasn't done anything yet and if he doesn't win a title there he left greener pastures in Champaign.
