  1. Ok, for all those who have eaten at Ruth's Chris, Mortons, Sullivans, Chop House and others that are similar.

Do you consider Ruth's Chris the most over rated of them? I attended a conference yesterday at our local Ruth's Chris and again after eating just felt like it was good but nothing I would ever say was great.
  2. one opening right by me now. waiting for responses...
  3. is ruth the owner of chris?
  4. Yes. Very overated.
  5. obv hidden brag about having a job that requires confrences
  6. I would take Texas Roadhouse over any of those places and I've eaten at all of them.

The 16oz. Cowboy Cut, loaded baked potato, and house salad combo together with unlimited cinnabutter rolls cannot be beaten by those other overpriced places.
  7. Texas Roadhouse is great. We have one near us and I feel like a pig after eating there and the price is pretty good.
  8. It's a good steakhouse, but you can find a good steakhouse almost anywhere these days....Ruth's gets way too much hype, but of course it has decent steaks, like many other restaruants.
  9. ruth chris highly highly overated.

last place i go when i want a good steak.
  10. If I want a good steak I go to the butcher and get a fresh cut. Then take it home and grill it myself. Cant get any better.
  11. ruths chris is by far the best i think. i went to the one located in the hilton hotel while in jacksonville. if they dont have it on the menu they will get it for u. my mother was a little chilly in the restaurant so they brought her a beautiful coat. i think its a first class place with excellent steak and seafood
  12. You shouldn't make judgements on a restaurant when you are dining with a large group of people. The food will almost never be as good compared to dining with a normal sized group (2-4). That being said, Ruth's Chris is about average when you compare top tier steakhouses.
  13. Depends on the location. I've eaten at a Ruth's Chris that is spectacular, and I've eaten at some that are so-so.

I prefer The Capital Grille over Ruth's Chris if I'm looking for a franchise steakhouse. Charley's beats them both.

  14. Definitely good steak, but not worth the $ and the hype, so yes to overrated.
  15. I like Ruth's Chris alright, but it's def not #1 on the list. When we go out, it's generally Del Frisco's > The Palm > Morton's > Ruth's Chris with Del Frisco's being far and above the best. I'd agree with godseyt that Ruth's Chris is about average when compared to other top tier steakhouses.
  16. since you seem to be a grammarian, the answer is yes. Ruth was a lady looking to buy a restaurant, she bought the Chris Steakhouse in the 60's. She changed the name to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.
  17. ^ godseyt, you make a good point on eating with a big group vs. a smaller size group.

  18. Real men eat chicken.
  19. Thank god I'm not a man, then :)
  20. I always thought Ruth's Chris steaks were the best I had ever had....That was until I ate at Bobby Flay's place in the Borgata....That was the best steak I ever had.
  21. houstons>>>ruths chris
  22. BGX beat me to it. Capital Grille is the shit. Delmonico steak and mac & cheese with lobster chunks. I like Ruth's, but Capital Grille is tough to beat.
  23. Wow, Capital grille looks great. May try that one on my next Charlotte trip.

  24. Del Frisco's and Flemings > Ruth's Chris

Sizzler isnt bad if you roll ghetto style.
  25. No, I mean, you can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking your head up a butcher's ass, but then..no. It's gotta be your bull.

    Ruth's Chris is overrated.
  26. I lold, Sizzler...

  27. J. Alexander's has good steak at a decent price. mmm steak....
  28. Flemmings> Ruth Chris.. very overated and boring dinner. flemmings always good time and food. Del frisco's also good.
  29. I ate there once and liked it alot...although I haven't been to any of the other places mentioned so I can't compare, I can't see anyone calling it bad though, based on my experience.
  30. Ahhh, Ruth Chris steak house. I remember as a youngster growing up in New Orleans going to the original Ruth Chris on Broad St. near the Fair Grounds. It was incredible. Unfortunately, since it went public a few years back, you get a different experience depending upon which one you happen to dine at....

I personally find it much better than Del Frisco's, and easily better than Fleming's. I will give Sullivan's props for their lobster, as I can't find anyone who does the lobster better than them.

    Mmmmmmm foooood,

    Chris.
