yes, I agree he wants to help and make a difference.... but do not jsutify the expense of this program by taxing the"wealthy" more. We all live here and should all participate in "fixing" this country....... we should all pay the same RATE (%) for taxes. If I pay 35%, then the guy making 40k a year should pay 35% as well.

He's listening to expert opinions, listening to advisors, coming up with solutions and proposing them to congress. If they don't make sense, congress should figure out how to fix it or drop it.
I think he actually gives a shit and wants to make things work better for our future, maybe he's on the wrong track, IDK, but frankly he couldn't fuck up any more than the bumbling idiot who just left. I know, I don't know shit, but I really give him credit for trying to do something. Maybe his methods are fucked but he's not just playing the game. -
I thought he said he would like to see it paid for by limiting the itemized deductions for people who make 1million plus... limiting tax shelters seems like a good idea. But anyway, I agree that some kind of flat tax is the way to go but if you do that, there would have to be zero tax shelters allowed.

I believe that is the scariest part of this situation. If this passes, and does nothing the President says it will, and it causes higher unemployment and huge deficits. There is no reset button. It will be here forever. Is there any politician that could vote to take away a poor persons "free healthcare"?
Instead the President is trying to rush it thru, when numerous non partisan bodies have huge questions. It certainly make you question his motives doesnt it? -
tax shelters are bs anyway, imo.....just be fair and tax all the same... there wouldnt be a need for tax shelters if the gov wasnt always screwing the people who need a tax shelter.... he says one thing on TV and the bill says another when you read it. It calls for 5.4% tax increase on those who make a combined annual income of $1 mil...... from 1-5% increase for people who make $280k+

Disagree. He wants to make it look like he wants to help and make a difference while continuing to fulfill the agenda of people in higher power and global control. No one that wants to help and make a difference uses constant lies and spins to make that difference. People that truly want to help and make a difference are honest, truthful and trustworthy. To me, Obama is an evil puppet master and a pawn used by a higher group of global elite.

I obv could be waaaaaaaaaay off, but this scenario continues to seem more and more likely in my crazy lil mind. -
PM Confessions of an economic hitman, IMO.

i have heard rumors, (confirm if true please) that some of the world's/countries richest people get together and dictate policy... sounds too conspiracy like for me, but after seeing some the BS that is going on, I wouldn't be suprised

what you are saying in essence is that politics doesn't achieve goals. All politicians lie and spin in their attempt to make changes (i.e. make a difference). So what everyone "wants" and what "happens" are on two different planes.

lol, you realize he is doing the exact opposite of what the world's riches would want him to do, ya?
-
Yes, yes it does.

I should clarify that I meant that anyone that is truly working for and on behalf of the people would not use lies and spins to achieve their agenda. While politicians "make a difference" and make changes, their lies and spins indicate that they're more concerned with their own power and pleasing lobbyists than with the views of the people. People that actually want to make a positive change for humanity do so in a totally honest, candid and transparent fashion.

Out of all the policies that people have, honesty is the best policy there is and ever will be. -
should have used a basketball imo

most people don't question the concept of what you're saying..... it's just not reality. The democratic system under which we exist provides for lobbying and political wrangling.... and quite honestly destroys the ideals that you mention, which most of us wish would occur. That is driven by the democratic and competitive process of achieving goals under which we operate. But unfortunately, the only alternative is dictatorship or other controlled government.

My point is that the ideals which you profess can only exist in a utopian society...where everyone agrees on all priniples. Anyone who operates under such ideal standards in the society in which we exist will find their goals to be thwarted. -
Which is why this world drives me crazy and makes me

More like "ibama" agrees with the worlds elite poor who want to get power through opportunity and manipulation of causes but really the same old goal. (with less people in control of more things and feeding their massive egos.) see: Hugo Chavez. Links freely available on teh googles.

Of course the bill is going through. Carbon taxes are coming next. BOHICA.
And to guys like Neeek (who I'm sure is a pleasant enough fellow), you're the minority now. Most of us can see this sham for what it is. -
many of you have never really utilized health care on an ongoing basis. the rates are ridiculous. things MUST change. i know what i paid each month was ridiculous, and what i had to come up with for an operation before they would do the procedure was also harsh. i hope obama's plan passes and FAST!
-
change just for the sake of change is not always the answer. Obama's plan (not really his, he hasn't even read it, Obama's plan would be a single payer source).

This plan blows monkey balls -
At least you agree with the radical left wing puppet part

i found this interesting article in a predominantly pro-Obama newspaper
Obama claims health care is bankrupting the nation. What he didn't say is the Commerce Department reports that the four priorities of medical, food, energy and housing represented 55.4 percent of consumer spending in 2007. The same categories represented a nearly identical 53.3 percent of spending in 1960.
the rest of the article can be read here
what Obama isn't telling us
