I've got a 40" Samsung LCD tv. I am not sure if my kid hit something on remote or what, but something has changed. For example the bottom line on ESPN is readable, but where it says LEAD, NCAAM, etc I only see the last letter. Regular tv shows still look good, but basketball looks awful. It appears that somehow the picture is wider than the screen. I have tried all the settings and can not figure out how to reset the picture to how it needs to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to beat your kids like I beat my meat.
edit - hope thats helpful -
Check the settings on your cable box. You're looking for the "aspect ratio", or it's equivalent. Just fuck with the settings on the cable box and the TV until you get what you want, then discipline your child.

on my tv, it's in the menu setting - image size - full (not zoom or wide)
your remote might have a picture size button -
Your tv has normal, stretch, and zoom. Sounds like your kid has it set to stretch. Just keep hitting the button until it is back to normal.

Could be worse. This dude I work with came home and his wife tells him "Promise you won't get mad..." His kid put his new toy light saber through the brand new lcd.
