San Quentin Maximum Security Prison...

    I was on the yard today for four hours today, surrounded by inmates. I saw maybe 5-6 guards the whole time I was there

    We were playing baseball vs the san quentin giants. There were 400 or so inmates in the yard watching, It was the craziest fucking experience of my life without question. Keep in mind we were on the main excercise yard of the prison...without any barriers between us or any of the other inmates...locked in.

    If you have ever seen any of the prison shows, the yard of any prison is no joke... let alone the yard at san quentin, the largest maximum security penitentury in California...it was unreal. it was a cool experience to say the least.

    ive seen the show on san quentin and i agree,, it was totally nuts.... what jail were you playing for? jk,,,, did u guys win?

    yes, we won 7-2 (maybe 6-2). I pitched and drilled one of their players/inmates (oops). they play a number of teams (usually semipro) from the sf bay area.

    they were the nicest/friendliest baseball team ive ever played against. they were really happy that we were there, came up to us (a lot) and just asked us a bunch of questions. they dont have any contact to the outside world...except for us. I got the feeling that it was something that they really loved doing (not just the guys on the team, but all of the inmates). i realllly dont think theyd fuck it up by doing something stupid.

    good point,,, but theres always one person who is selffish and might possibly ruin it,,, im glad tho that hasnt been the case for you,,, do they ever beat u guys or do u always beat them?

    today was my first time, but we beat them last year (i wasnt on the team last year). they werent bad at all tho. they actually play a number of teams, not just us. they have been doing so for 15 years or so and there has never been a problem.

    I think that there is a certain level of respect that they have for us since we come in there on our own will and play with them/entertain them/treat them like real ppl. It is still fucking scary though, no doubt.

    no, actually we didnt even get searched (lol). i think the guard @ the gate was a noob or something...
