So driving down a fairly busy road in town. On the other side of the road see a car horizontal across both lanes, a guy, probably about 55-60, on the ground rolling around in the middle of the road and a guy over him trying to help him. Park in the median and run over there. Figuring this guy was just hit by that car, but at least the driver got out to help.
So the guy on the ground has cuts and blood on his face and a big gash on the top of his head (kinda like Lauzon's head last night for UFC fans). Several other good samaritans have stopped now and are calling 911. We ask the guy what happened and he says he doesn't remember anything. Was pretty obvious he had a concussion.
So the cops get there and are asking him and us what happened. They ask him for ID, he doesn't have any. They ask him what happened, he says again he doesn't remember. So then about 2 minutes later another car parks in the median and a guy in his 30s I would guess comes running over crying and says "Why would you do that? Why would you jump out of a moving car Dad?" Then the cops are like wait a minute weren't we just over at your house an hour ago? So then the ambulance comes and they take Dad away. They are questioning the us more and ask for our info then send us off. Did hear them say that the car was going 45MPH when he jumped out though. Didn't get to hear the son's full story, they wanted us to go because traffic was getting all backed up.
This comes 3 months after a dude ran into a light pole going 70 off the shoulder of the highway and part of that hit my car. That dude also had a concussion but made it out alive.
You guys have any stories like these? -
Twice in the last year i've seen this....
Driving on 4 lane road, see a bunch of cars stopped on the other side of the highway. We slow down, theres a body in the middle of the road, a bike is destroyed, when we look over it was a kid about 12yrs old laying in a pool of his own blood, body twisted, dead. Apparently just happend 2-3 min before we arrived, cops weren't there yet to cover the body. One of the worst things i've ever seen in my life.
Same 4 lane road, driving, cars stopped on other side of the road. Same deal as before, body laying in a pool of dark dark dark red blood, body in awkward position. This guy was in his 30's, riding his bike, got hit by a car, dead on impact. Not something you want to see.
I'll never forget either one. -
Most messed up thing I witnessed was watching a guy die on the first hole while playing golf. It was in my hometown and I knew the guy quite well (he owned a local bar). It was hot as hell and muggy and this guy easily weighed 300 +.
My buddy and I are teeing of the first hole (par 5) and are waiting forever for the group in front of us to hit their second shot. We can see the people on the green and we think they are fucking around so we drive the cart towards the green to see what is going on. Well this guy had a massive heart attach on the green and these two ladies from number #2 tee box where giving him mouth to mouth, it was actually really disturbing because I have never seen anything like this happen. The guy's face was blue and looked like he was going to explode.
The ambulance showed up a few minutes later and drove right out on the green as we all watched. They asked me and my buddy to help lift him on the gurny (sp?). The handles literally were ripping out because he was so heavy. That image will never leave my mind and I hope I never have to see something like that again. I have all the respect in world for EMT's or anybody that deals with that on a day to day basis.
As far as dying, that would be the way to go. Have a massive heart attach doing something you really enjoy! They hold an annual tourney for him and once you get on the green you have to putt from where he died to the exact pin placement that was set up the day he died. -
Most messed up thing I've ever seen:
I was called to an accident in which 4 people were reported killed. When I arrived it was much worse than first thought. Bodies, blood people crying and screaming everywhere hardend police officers puking at gagging at the carnege. There was a head lying in the middle of the road just a head sitting up as if observeng all that was going on.A local vagrant (the town drunk) went to an officer and said he thought one of his friends might be invovled. The officer told him to walk over and see if he could identify his friend.
The man staggerd out into the middle of this tragic scene, went directy to the torsoless head grabbed it by the ears and lifted it to his line of sight.Needless to say this set of another round of puking by everyone. After a moment an officer manged to ask him "Is that your friend"?
The drunk staring intently at this lifeless head said " Nope my friend is taller" -

As for the original OP.
Saw a double motorcycle fatality on a highway in Texas. We roll up and two bodies are laying near a bike...blood every where...brains coming out of ones guys head. Sick...Still gives me goosebumps when I think about it. No emergency crews were on site yet but a lot of others had stopped so we kept going.
In Palmdale I missed another double fatal by a few mins. I rolled up on a Head on ...car and vs a truck and the car was destroyed. Apparently the truck was passing at a high rate of speed and clipped another car and then slid into on coming traffic and hit this car head one. A fews mins after I arrived, emergency crews arrived and closed the road. They airlifted the only survivor from the car to the hospital. Whats makes it worse is that I ended up working and becoming friends with the guy who lost his wife and son in this accident. I never told him I saw it...
When I was at NMSU I had a class with a guy that ran over a downed motorcyclists on I-10 between El Paso and Las Cruces. He said the guy was riding in front of him and went down and there was nothing he could do...it happened that quick.
Lost a few friends due to car accidents...
