  1. Anthony Kiedis'book. This book blew my mind. If you are a Red Hot Chilli Peppers fan you should check this out. Very informative, nothing is left out of this book. It's based on Anthony's view of the world from a very early age. It's a very long read but well worth it. He has a great story to tell. It took me a long time to read it but I'm glad i finsihed it.

Hey, if you don't want to read the book then just bow out gracefully. No need to be a dick. This thread is about the struggles of the band and how they succeded despite of it. I'm not comparing them to any other band in history. they are too unique to do that.

negative. and talking about them is a waste of my time. good night.
  14. Thanks for posting this. I did not know about the book.

Of course, you're asking for trouble when you start trying to claim status with Led Zeppelin, Marley or U2. I love all three of those as well. But, there is something very, very special about the Chili Peppers. Of all the bands and musicians I love, none get me off harder than the Chili Peppers do. It is very exhilirating and rewarding music. For old Grateful Dead and Phish fans like me, you know the most fun you can have with music is to dance with other people to it. Well, you can't throw down any harder than you can to a good RHCP jam. You throw in the honesty of Anthony and Flea and the emotion their lyrics create, combined with the rhythm, I love it. It's intense.

Looking forward to reading that book.
  15. haven't read it yet. But I will next

  16. i wish anthony kiedis would have overdosed long ago. these fucks don't even touch zeppelin btw.
  17. Loooooooooooooove the Red Hot Chili Peppers and pretty much love everything they've ever done. There were a couple of albums that took longer to grow on me "By The Way", but overall I just love their shit.

Good musicians and bands tend to have their music change over periods of time because most lyricists feed off of their emotions when coming up with their songs. For those people who say they suck now, I'd say it sucks more not to realize this and to keep expecting the stuff that they came out with when they were young & crazy.

They have some awesome songs, albeit it's a lot different than when they first came out with their rock/rap/funk style. I think there are portions of Stadium Arcadium that go back to their roots though and the best concert experience I've ever had was their Stadium Arcadium tour w/ The Mars Volta. That concert environment was just amazing and it felt just like one giant party with everyone just dancing their asses off throughout the entire stadium.

    You guys be crazy.

Who'd want to touch Zeppelin? Most overrated fucking band on the planet. Don't get me wrong, they have some great songs but they have a ton more songs that are just god awful. My local radio station has a "Get the Led Out" 1/2 hour segment dedicated to LZ and that's a guaranteed 1/2 hour that I listen to something else.

  21. The books been out for a while now but it blew my mind aswell. Sucks that John's left the band again and thats probably the only regret about music I have is not seeing them a few years ago live when i had the chance.

Love how Keidis loses his virginity, so much stuff in there thats just WOW wtf material
