  1. Beating a dead horse but lets settle the debate and stop the threads... by posting another thread.
Here are the stats of eight of the best QB's in NFL history according to some of the names thrown around in the other posts and I threw in a few myself. After looking at unbiased stats, give me your top 3. Names, teams, rings left out. You can debate other things, such as postseason success, after getting a top 3 from these stats. Don't name the QBs if you know, I'll reveal them later.

    QB No. 1 153 games, 64.0 CP%, 39,972 yards, 291-149 (TD-INT), 94.2 rating. PEYTON MANNING

    QB No. 2 192 games, 63.2 CP%, 40,551 yards, 273-139 (TD-INT), 92.3 rating. JOE MONTANA

    QB No. 3 169 games, 64.3 CP%, 33,124 yards, 232-107 (TD-INT), 96.8 rating. STEVE YOUNG

    QB No. 4 242 games, 59.4 CP%, 61,361 yards, 420-252 (TD-INT), 86.4 rating. DAN MARINO

    QB No. 5 234 games, 56.9 CP%, 51,475 yards, 300-226 (TD-INT), 79.9 rating. JOHN ELWAY

    QB No. 6 250 games, 61.3 CP%, 60,257 yards, 430-281 (TD-INT), 85.5 rating. BRETT FAVRE

    QB No. 7 211 games, 54.6 CP%, 40,239 yards, 290-253 (TD-INT), 78.2 rating. JOHNNY UNITAS

    QB No. 8 105 games, 62.9 CP%, 24,250 yards, 180-82 (TD-INT), 92.2 rating. TOM BRADY

Try not to use Google, but just for fun, $5 on Full Tilt to whoever names this "overrated QB" first whose stats I came across. He is regarded as a top QB in NFL history, but interesting stats say otherwise.

Mystery QB 140 games, 50.1 CP%, 27,663 yards, 173-220 (TD-INT), 65.5 QB rating, and he tossed 20+ INTs in a season five times JOE NAMATH
  2. For the Contest: Dan Marino

    For the Post:

  3. So we're going to use stats to get down to the top 3 then we'll discuss merit and other things like championships? That doesn't make sense. Why not discuss championships first then stats? We'll have three different quarterbacks. There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Your way is preposterous.
  4. Mystery QB - Joe Namath

  6. Sweet!!! I can use the money since I'm busto on all the sites.
  7. Nice job compiling this stuff. I'm such a geek with stats that I'm pretty sure I can tell you 8 you have listed without looking it up. I'll let someone else take a stab....

  8. I'm a stat guy too, I just think the numbers and who people think are the best QBs would be surpising to most.

  9. I would pick QB No. 2, QB No. 4 and QB No. 6 as my top 3.

Joe Namath or George Blanada is my guess for the Mystery QB
  10. Oh yeah, definitely. That's what I mean. That's why I posted stuff about Unitas in that other thread. (#7 on your list.)

  11. 1,3,4. OBV i know who one of them is, as he is my favorite player. I cant believe you thought those shitty stats belonged to marino phil, have you been watching football this year?
  12. in order i would go. 8, 3, 1, 2, 4, 6, 5, 7.

8,3,1 were all close for the top spot. then 2, 4, 6 are in tier 2. 5 and 7 have the worse stats by far, imo.
