1. His wife has cancer, anyone else think Edwards might actually end up beating Clinton and Obama??

I have a feeling he might end up being the popular choice because the other two seem to polarize voters. Now his wife has the BIG C, might sway even more to ship their vote his way.
2. I think Ann Coulter may have been on to something. "I feel pretty..."

3. Artiecat, please kill yourself you heartless prick. The guy has lost a son, his wife had cancer, beat it and now has it again. And all you can do is call him a faggot. Nice.
4. Poor play, Artiecat.
5. when this is what they've got, they're in pretty bad shape.

ship the white house to someone other than a figurehead for an oil tycoon.
6. I feel very bad for John Edwards and his family and my prayers are with them. However, I was responding to the OP who asked the question of whether or not he will get the sentimental vote. Which is a stupid reason for voting for someone.

edit: BTW, F all of you who think someone (especially a politician who made this very public) should be absent of criticism. If Laura Bush came down with cancer you guys would be celebrating in the streets and would be just as critical as ever.

Edit #2: Ok, I am wrong about you guys celebrating in the streets if LB comes down with cancer. However, if something happened to Cheney or Rove, that would be worth celebrating for some on this forum.

7. Now that's a good point. A very good point.

Not sure why you didn't just say that rather than referencing Ann Coulter. I took a lot of heat for saying that Ann Coulter's remarks about John Edwards were representative of the way a lot of Republicans actually feel, but I guess you are proving I was right.

EDIT: Since Artiecat edited his post I have to edit mine, because his addition that people would be dancing in the streets if Laura Bush got cancer is, holy shit, insane. So I want it clear that I don't think that part of his post is a good point. Holy shit.
8. LOL

once again youre making a ridiculous assumption based on ONE person's reply

9. And yet you tend to agree with me.
10. Please oh please oh please don't let artiecat be the collective voice of conservatives everywhere, that will make me very sad :(

12. who cares about a person's reason for selecting a particular candidate?

this country is filled with so many morons that id imagine most of their reasons are pretty retarded.
13. I am sorry Edwards' wife has cancer, but why would a guy who cares about his family run for President while his wife has cancer.

Just seems wrong to me. As a spouse he should be supporting his wife, as a candidate he should not be distracted by his wife illness.

The skeptic in me says that he has decided to use the illnes for political gain. Why call a press conference to announce that he is going to continue his bid despite the illness?

Sentimental vote - Hooey.
14. What honks me off is that the Shrub's only been President for 6 years and ALREADY his Mom's picture is on the $1 Bill:

15. You are a very sick man Artiecat. There's not one person that would be "dancing in the streets" if Laura Bush came down with cancer. That is the most ridiculous statement i've heard. It just shows your level of thinking.
16. ^^^^agreed. I really don't care. To be honest I was looking for an excuse to show the video. I did a search under Edwards and replied to the most recent post. Sorry.

17. I actually think it is hilarious too, but please take the autoplay off.

However, it's not the video, but the fact that you said something about maybe Ann Coulter was right after all. I think we all know what that was a reference to.
18. I tended to agree with you regarding an entirely different subject in an seperate thread. Please stop putting words in my mouth.

19. "If Laura Bush came down with cancer you guys would be celebrating in the streets and would be just as critical as ever."

WTF? Can you be serious?
20. zomg, think of the sentimental vote hell get if she dies

republicans unite, we MUST keep her alive to win this election!!!
21. YES, STOP WITH THE FUCKING AUTOPLAY! If people want to see your video, they will watch it.
22. You said Ann Coulter might be on to something. She called Edwards a fag. You didn't call him that, but obvously that is what you were implying. Give me a break.
23. Would you like me to point you to the blog in the huffington post recently when Cheney narrowly escaped death in Iraq to prove it to you steve?

24. Relax. Joking.
25. Hey, you said Laura Bush. If Cheney dropped dead, it would be a small sense of relief.
26. Thats cool. I am not. You consistently use an extremist or one extremists view to represent the entire republican party.

27. Well, you could but Huffington Post removed it, but I know what you are referring to.

After an attempt on the vice president's life in Afghanistan today, it seemed a given that Cheney Derangement Syndrome would instantly rear its ugly head.

And like clockwork, it most certainly did, handing the nation's talk hosts a fantastic topic. Are some lefties sorry Cheney wasn't killed? Did the Bush Admin- istration stage the event to boost its poll standings?

In times like these, no conspiracy theory is too far- fetched for this crowd.

Before the Huffington Post removed some of the most outrageous comments from its site, National Review Online Editor Kathryn Jean Lopez captured some of them here:
