Alright its finals week and I havent been to the store so I order a pizza. There is a papa johns like 7 min away so i I always go there and get a large 1 topping for 8 dollars. (delivery fees are so -ev)
I go to pick up the pizza and on my way out I get stopped at a light in front of the store. There is a pizza delivery guy trying to cross from the other side of the road and he is trying to pull into the papa johns. I stop a little short and allow him room to cross through. He makes eye contact with me and I wave him through. Well he takes this as an absolute green light and just takes off, little did he know there is a shoulder in front of the store and this civic is snaking his way through and I guess is going to turn right at the light.
Smashing obviously takes place and im sitting there trying figuring out if I had a role, and what my responsibility was. Ultimately I decide my responsibility lies with my roommate at home waiting on the pizza and when the light turn grees I nonchalantly leave the scene.
Should I feel bad or is this guy just a life failure. -
feeling bad for morons is -ev in the long run immfo
-
Yes, turn yourself in immed.

this happened to me and my X back in the highschool days...
we were stopped on a busy road trying to turn left into of a development...
kid was in development waiting there before us...GF waives to him signaling he can go before us...
he just takes off and smashes into another car...
guy gets out all pissed talking shit and acting tough...
kid ends up being one of my soccer buddies little brother...
almost ended up swinging on the lunatic who got hit...
end result is the kid coulda sued my girl for waving him on...apparently thats a no no...
she was almost cited with a ticket...
but nothing came about and the kids insurance took care of it all -
He is a life failure, you did nothing wrong.
-
lol you definitely have a role
never let people through in those spots. ever. nothing good can come of it. -
Isn't it against the law to leave the scene of an accident even as a witness?
-
legally your girl was liable stackin?
that seems rediculous, I guess ill stop letting people through in those spots from now on. -
it's not ridiculous; when you wave someone through, you're telling them it's safe to go through. if it isn't, then you're at fault.

don't let people through. it's the "talking to cops" of driving. -
I know in AZ you can be held responsible if you wave someone in, happened to my step dad. But he's a dick so EFF him lol.
-
A) you are stupid for waving
B) he is stupid for jamming the gas and taking off
C) most people are stupid, so it's okay. -
holy shit you are cheap... but you would rather waste the gas, plus the inconvenience of going to pick it up? something dumb like a wreck or a getting robbed at the pizza place could happen... talk about -ev

pay the fucking delivery fee imo you cheap mofo -
I don't buy that at all. I would never believe it until I saw it first hand, it makes no sense, who arbitrarily decides if it was 'safe' or not? Or what if you give them room but dont wave, or pick your nose and they think you are waving. Or if it was safe when you waved, then they hesitate and then go and get it, my fault?
There is just way too much bs that I never could see that holding up in court. -
Oh, and Brick...you should lay low for a while as you're probably wanted for murder....
-
Def not a bright idea to leave the scene. hows the pizza? put hot sauce on it imo.
-
unless you are on Seinfeld, there are Good Samaritan laws then
-
she could have been held liable but the we knew the kid and his family...they are way to kind to ever pursue that...

letting pepole through is fine...i still do it to this day...
just dont direct the traffic... let them figure out the time to go -
LOL @ waco attacking unprovoked as usual. If using a carry out coupon and picking it up myself which saves me 12 bucks on a pizza makes me cheap in your eyes so be it. Then again im not impaired 24/7 so driving 10 minutes to get a pizza isnt a big deal.

Never ever, ever, feel bad for pizza delivery guys. Just think how times they've cut you of, screwed up your order, or generally pissed you off. Fck HIM
-
I haven't had a pizza delivered in more than 10 years. Always go and pick it up.

i'm just telling you what the case is in arizona (as someone already mentioned.) in any case, it's stupid to let people through in those situations anyway since you're basically encouraging them to take an opportunity when their vision is clearly obstructed.
-
I always stop so that there is room for the other driver to get out, but I usually look the other way so they can decide for themselves. If they want to take a risk by jamming the gas to fly out across 3-4 lanes, then so be it.

The city I live in isn't the most highly trafficked place, though. So, there are plenty of opportunities to get out and while east/west bound traffic is sitting at a red light. -
I was a pizza man a while back for about a year, so yes you should feel bad. So plz take nife in hand, insert in deep gut, twist, repeat a few times.
In all seriousness, he drives for a living, he should know better, I hope that pizza was tastey, but 1 topping, really??? Come on, live a little, Supreme add bananna peppers ftw! -
There is nothing that you can do or say that should absolve someone of their responsibility to be aware, be cautious and drive safely.
