What exactly is the answer you are looking for here? There is only a range of about a few numbers that I think would be acceptable. everything else would probably turn you off. Im baffled as to why women ask this in the first place.

I think I asked because I was a being an immature 19-year-old. Tbh, I can't even remember now what my purpose was in asking. Thinking back to how I was when I was 19... I probably asked in the hopes that he'd answer with "Zero. I've been waiting for YOU my whole life." Silly, I know.

You gotta ask yourself, What have I got to gain by reveling the truth in a spot such as this? Once you have arrived at that point, answer accordingly. I find the # 3 to be most successful answer to this question if she really presses you for a #.

In the 12 years I've known my hubby, I've never asked - no good can come of such a question - there are a several ways to avoid giving an answer here - you can start with "a gentleman never tells" then if pressed you can say "honestly, I don't know the EXACT # - I don't notch my bedpost" but that will obv mean your # is > 10 - you could also say "the number of girls I've slept with in the past is unimportant, what's important is the # going forward - I'm hoping it's 1" - or you could go with "I don't discuss my exes - they're in the past - let's leave them there" or something to that affect - don't lie, but don't tell her either if your # is high - she's likely asking because she wants to feel like she's not just another # - make her feel special/let her know that you're more interested in your future together than you are in rehashing your past
