Does anyone else feel that "sir" has become the poker equivalent to "chief", "boss", and other simular condecending terms. It's especially grating when used by people who you know have never used the term in any other facet of life.
GG sir -
wp sir AKA you're fucking horrible
-
i dunno, i prefer being called "sir" to "donkeyfucker"
-
What's with all you old guys bitching about trivial shit said at the poker tables?
I say sir more often in real life than I do in poker, but I never mean it in a condeceding way.
LOL OLDPEOPLEBITCHAMENTS -
I know I have said "well played sir" after some fuck called me with Q 5.
-
that wierd angle makes that guy look like antonio alfonseca
-
Sad to be old at 38, but just so you know you sound like a huge douche if you say "sir" all the time at the poker table.
-
I don't say "sir" all the time at the poker table, and if I do, it's in the same respectful manner I would use in face to face interactions.
And yes, I have noticed the majorty of people that bitch about menial shit like this are over 35ish, and in the online poker world, it's old. Not elderly, just old in comparison with the average.
Maybe you are the one that is the douche by taking offense.............. -
I have lately been calling everyone "guy". I like it because it assumes an air of familiarity that doesn't exist, thereby subtly showing my lack of respect for the individual and obvious feelings of superiority.
-
unless you are playing against an Indian or Bruce Springsteen
