  1. i work pretty long hours (830am-1030pm) and have noticed that my neck has really been starting to hurt since i'm looking over a screen for extended periods of time. anyone have any recommendations on something to buy or exercises that helped them?

on to problem #2... my sleep isn't really peaceful anymore. before i would be able to sleep for 8 hours and wake up refreshed, now i will sleep for 6.5-7hours and wake up all "alarmed." it's like something is mentally stressing me out, but i'm not too sure what. anyone ever suffer from this? i'm usually pretty drowsy around 3-4pm which effects the quality of my work, so any advice to help me get more sound sleep would be appreciated (btw this has been a problem for about 3.5 months, but never before in my life. im 22)

  5. Get an ergonomic assessment of your work station. You'd be surprised what a difference that would make. I am an RMT and it is the first thing I recommend to people who are trapped at their desk all day. Secondly make sure you are getting in some physical activity. Sounds simple enough but it will be huge both mentally and physically. Oh, and go see a massage therapist. :) I help dozens of people every week with your exact problems.
  6. for your neck... fwiw, my parents have these pillows and they're amazing. A bit pricy, but well worth it imo.

for having better sleep patterns I recommend melatonin (3 mg). I take it a few nights a week and I love it. I'd avoid prescribed sleeping pills like Ambien or Lunesta unless you really can't sleep properly.
  7. If you're like the majority of americans you probably are consuming a ton of caffeine. If thats the case I would try to cut down the

coffee and have some green tea in the morning instead.
  8. Your neck problemns are related to the stress ask your doctor about getting a script for a low dose of prozac.
  9. 14 hours a day at a computer screen?

    Dude, you need a union.
  10. Free time OP needs some
  11. its your stress. calm down and think of the money you're making lolol. and the pillow thing seems to work for some people. doesn't hurt to try, but it doesn't sound like you're waking up with a sore neck, so that isn't the problem. when i was in my high stress moments summer last year, it had a huge impact on my sleep. when the shit cleared the fan though, i sleep like a damn baby now and for hours. heart my sleep

i work as a Risk Analyst for a startup called Square in San Francisco (www.squareup.com). the company is growing really fast and there isn't enough employees, so we make up for all of it with 60-70hour weeks
