    OT's Smokin Zags, Scott Travers, advanced to the round of 16 today in the Cal State Amateur with a convincing 5 & 4 victory. Scott, who is seeded 19th from 36-hole medal play qualifying, made it to the round of 8 last year, and will face the 30th seed tomorrow in the round of 16.

    Scott has been playing well of late, including a 7th place finish in the Southwestern Amateur championship last week, when he shot 70-70-70-68.

    EDIT: Zags crushing his opponents, will play heads up, 36 holes Saturday for the State Amateur championship!!!

    EDIT2: Smokin Zags is the 2010 Calfornia State Amateur Champion!!! Fantastic Accomplishment!!!

    BALLA!! My boy, who is leading the Nationwide is driving distance for the year, just tweeted that the course this week is 7,708 yards!! LOL
