It's the moment we've all been waiting for - the sweat thread for the professional golf career of OT'er Scott "Smokin Zags" Travers!!!

Scott made it through the First Qualifying Stage on October 28th - right on the number. Now he advances to Second Stage Qualifying beginning this Wednesday November 16th and running through Nov 19th, at Plantation Preserve in Fort Lauderdale, Florida! Among the field will be PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour Pros... I saw Notah Begay's name on the competitor list, for example. I don't know if the number of advancing players has been established (Scott can post and I'll edit if it has), but I do know that players who shoot the qualifying score including ties advance to play in the Final Qualifying Stage at PGA West, November 30-December 5!

Making it to the Second Stage is pretty awesome in and of itself for a first year professional, but if he somehow advances to the Final Qualifying Stage, that would be HUUUUUUGE! Not only are a number of PGA Tour cards on the line in the Final Stage, but also Nationwide Tour cards, and certainly a lot of sponsor attention. Also, the Final Stage will be televised on the Golf Channel.

But one step at a time.... Second Stage is the event at hand and we get to sweat Scott at his event in Ft Lauderdale starting Wednesday!

Congrats Smokin Zags on making it to this level, and you can bet that OT will be pulling for you! If it works out that's fantastic, but we'll all be supporting you in your professional endeavors, upon whichever path you may begin!
