I am going on a cruise and was wondering if anyone has any experience/suggestions on how to get alcohol on the ship?

shampoo bottles

check first. some lines let you bring a bottle per person. some let you bring a bottle if it's a special occasion. honeymoon etc. (which you can lie about).
I went on a 15-day Princess cruise and told them it was my honeymoon (which it was) and they let me bring big bottle of champagne. wife brought wine and they never asked for verification it was our honeymoon. -
I went a few months ago and I emptied out a few 2 liter bottles of soda and filled them up with alcohol. Got them on board without a problem

I packed them in my luggage

Been on three different cruises and have taken alcohol each time. What you want to do is buy the little bottles of what ever you drink. Liquor stores sell them as 10 packs (in some places) and stash them in your checked in bags. Don't go over the top or else you might get caught and they take away anything you brought. The times that I've gone, my whole family has taken the little bottles and we've never had a problem. If your going with others just spread the booze around. Also once on board, you can order a bottle of your drink of choice for 60-90 bucks. Drinks run around $5-7 and if you have your own bottle you should be able to save some money.
Any ?'s PM me -
wait... they dont sell booze on cruse ships?
-
Where are you leaving from? Only done this in South Florida not sure if things are different in other places.

i remember buying duty free liquor on the ship for cheap as hell. is there a duty free shop in the ship???
-
Yeah that's true. Also if you buy booze in a port you have to turn it in at the door and they return them at the end of the cruise.
-
I am not sure how much the duty is, but I live 5 mins from Canada and each person can carry back 2 liters without any duty, so I assume that rule holds true for cruises?
-
i think i just duty'd my pants

if you're going on the Carnival Dream, say hello to the music director for me. Lucky bastard landed a damn fine gig. His father is a good friend.

we bought and consumed during the cruise(drank in the room as i was underage). its been a long time so things may have changed. i think it was only open when we were in international waters, but i could be wrong about that.

been on many cruises, we actually take an extra wheeled bag just to put a case of beer, cokes and liqour in, stash it all over your luggage. never had a problem.

I always sail Royal Carribean, but normal everyday you get a schedule of all the goings on. Look for art auctions and things like that because they almost always have a waiter go around with free wine or champagne. Just go, watch people buy art, and get drunk. Easy.
