    Oh I noticed on page one. It's a big deal just like Afghanistan having their first female Olympian competing this year or when Cathy Freeman won her medal in track and field for Australia in the Sydney games. They are all ground breaking achievements.

    No problem with this story, I just think equal attention should have been paid to noted whiteboy Galen Rupp. C'mon, UK and US finishing 1-2 in the 10,000? Whiteboy on the podium? Although Costas probably would have handled that poorly, like how people kinda lost their shit about Jeremy Wariner.

    yeah I'm not an announcer or anything, but i definitely noticed that it was the first medal by a white person in a distance event in a while.

    I do believe this was noted. That said, gymnastics is a "marquee" event and gets a ton more media exposure than a boring race around an oval featuring endless left turns.
