1. .......and I am seeking the help of knowledgable OTers. I have never owned a car before, and don't know that much about them. I think I wanna used car, somewhere in the range of 5-10k, although i am willing to spend up to 15 for something sick. Looking for something practical, 4 door, mid size, nothing too big. If i end up picking a car that you show me, I will ship you $24.24 dollars on full tilt. Thanks for the help.

need pics obv. also, if there are pics of sick cars for flips AND hot girls, i will probably be more likely to pick your car.

2. you've come to the right place, i used to be a used car salesmen
3. Sorry for no picture, but I bought a Hoda Fit last year, for about 20K CDN. You can pick up a Sport Fit in the U.S. for just over 15K brand new. Used would be about 11K if the milage is low. They are subcompact cars, but have more room the big sedans with the way the seats fold. Great on gas, as they are gas sippers and the tank is only about 7 gallons total so filling up is cheap. Good luck with your decision, and as one Fit owner, I would highly recommend you at least taking a look at them. The 09 body style is updated and I have an 08 that is a little more boxy.
4. recommendations Pics can be found by typing said suggestion into any search engine.

If you want a car thats gonna last try some of these.

Certified pre-owned is always a good way to go, as you'll get some sort of warranty with your used car.

4 door, mid sized, decent on gas

Toyota Camry any year 2002-up. Great car, lasts forever, and decent on gas. Depending on year the style will be a bit different.

You can find an older Lexus on a Lexus lot that is certified pre-owned....id think there are a few models from 2000-2004 in that price range.

I think for style in a 4-door, and still getting decent mileage your bets bet is probably a Toyota Camry. Best selling car in its class for like 7 years. Drive and run well, and toyota's last forever.

icount52 on FTP there are really a ton of cars in your range...just gotta go test drive a few and see what you like.

7. If your a car burying n00b be carefull buying used. They might have hidden water damage (Katrina, Ike) and be patched up. Watch out for used car lots. Safer is certified-pre owned at a reputable brand dealer. But they will charge more obv. Iy your thinking new and affordable what about a Ford Focus?

If you do go for second hand, pick a Toyota. Best long-term durability to price ratio.
8. from fortunemeyers ebay: bid $10k, buy it now $11,887. 29k miles. pretty nice imo

9. oooooooh, wait! I just found this one!

You are looking at the smooth and beautiful 1999 Mercedes Benz E320, 4matic, V-6, 3.2L engine. Black with a black leather interior, it has 95.566 miles and an automatic transmission. Mercedes Benz’s are one of the most unique vehicles on the road; they are fast, fun to drive, and rare. This one is in outstanding condition. It is obvious that the original owner took great care of this car. These cars look great in black and this one has outstanding paint. There are few dings and tiny scratches on the body. The only cosmetic items we noticed were just few tiny stone chips on the nose. They are not even noticeable but we always try our best to describe all of our cars as accurately as possible. No known mechanical problems. The leather seats are not ripped or marked and have a minimal amount of wear on them. The dash and shift console are spotless. The carpets are in good condition. The wheels are in good shape. The tires are recent and have about 90% of the tread remaining. This Mercedes Benz comes loaded with options including: power steering, locks, seats, windows, air conditioning, heated front leather seats, AM/FM stereo Cassette with 6-CD Changer, 6 AIR BAGS, abs, traction control, awd, original xenon lights, original Mercedes Benz mobile phone. We have 1-key with keyless entry and an Owner's manual. This is a Mercedes Benz that can be shipped anywhere sight unseen and its new owner will be thrilled with the condition. Please call Dan or e-mail me with any other questions. I will gladly assist in shipping or pick you up at the airport or train station if you would like to drive the car home. Please check our feedback and bid with confidence. I look forward to speaking with you. (215) 300-2407.
10. if you buy a jaguar or mercede's and it isnt under warranty, have fun!

They cost an arm and a leg to service. Parts are expensive, and their labor charges are thru the roof.

Stick with a certified pre-owned, or warranty car.

Used cars break down, some are easier and cheaper to fix than others.
11. I use to work for Toyota/Lexus and I would highly recommend the Lexus IS300..
I don't work there anymore and have no bias or anything, the cars are just amazing to drive. You said you were looking for a 4door as well and the beautiful thing about the IS300 is you get a 4door car that drives and handles like a 2dr sports coupe.. You would probably have to get one with a few miles on it to keep under 15k but I woudn't even worry because it will honestly last you longer then you even want it. Provided you take good care of it :-)

Just had a quick look on Ebay and it looks like for 12 13ish, you can get one with 75k miles.. You could also look at the BMW 325i, Acura 3.2 TL (a little bigger of a car but not huge or anything)... anyways, just food for thought

12. Who needs cars when you're as good as flips people should be lining up to drive him places hahah..... the kid ships obv... For a car I'd say just wait till the end of FTOP's after you ship the ME or 1 of em you can up that price range for sure no problem...IMO
13. buy American......
14. SUPER smart to buy used.

the benefits of a new car in no way outperform the cost savings of buying used.

very smart play

17. I'd go with a used Nissan/Honda/Toyota.

No need to go Jaguar or Lexus, they're just high-end Ford and Toyota models.

The Altima or Sentra from Nissan is a good choice and I think both are pretty fuel efficient. For Toyota, you can't really go wrong with any of their 4-door car options. Same w/ Honda.

One of my ex's had a Honda Accord and I used to love driving that thing. GL with whatever you choose.
18. Get a Honda Accord...nice, sizable enough, and not too much to fix.
DO NOT buy a Euro car!!! So much to fix...
I'd also recommend Mazda. The Proteges are pretty nice cars for what they are (I was happy with mine)
19. Infiniti G35 ftw
20. Settled on a red 03 Audi a4. Thanks for the help guys!
