Something wrong with musicians???

    When you look at genius' of music, there always seems to be something "wrong" with them. Two examples. Elton John is perhaps one of the greatest artists of all time, but he is gay. Not to say that I dislike gays, but a portion of the world do. Michael Jackson is, undoubtedly, the greatest pop star of all time, but his is extremely eccentric, and some beleive, a child molester. Is there a patern here?

    I believe the fact they make SO MUCH money kinda has them living in " their own worlds."

    In Michael's case I think it's been well documented that he never had a "normal childhood" and that his bizzare (sp?) behavior is just a by-product of that fact.

    Most "artists" seem to "march to the beat of a different drum".... this makes them a "genious", but at the same time sort of has them at odds with what the "mainstream" population feels is "normal."

    Damn that's a lot of " " .....lol

    I agree w/ what you said about Michael, he has to be considered the greatest "pop" artist of all time. I'd love to have the talent for just a day.

    Also, could you imagine being that famous?? I mean you could never live any kind of regular life. Here's another old cliche, but it's true.... "fame has its price"...... It's easy to be on our side and say I'd give it all up to be famous.....but.... what would it be like to never be able to go anywhere and have a little privacy or peace??? Maybe the forced reclusiveness ( is that a word?...lol) adds to the eccentricities that a lot of the great artists exhibit?

    Good question J...... and WTF is w/ your beloved Lakers? Looks like you better jump ship to the other L.A. team or better yet, join me in saying ......

    I tend to jump his case quite a bit, but I don't honestly believe he meant it in that context. I truly believe he was simply trying to state that most truly gifted artists seem to be "odd."

    Well Jackson is a Homosexual and a child molester. He may be one of greatest pop stars of all time, but is vital piece of trash that should be in prison getting rapped on a daily basis for all the hell and premit mental scars he has put on some children. His money is the only reason he is not behind bars.

    Yeah, you could say all that and probably not get too much of an arguement from anyone. I just question the intentions or motives of any parent that puts their child in the home of someone who has that kind of reputation. So, even though he's been accused before, these people still felt it ok to leave their kids with him???? I mean if he had been the "sterotypical" accused pedophile would those same parents have let their kids get within 5 miles of him???

    HELL NO THEY WOULDN'T HAVE..... FUGGIN MONEY WANTIN ARSEHOLES LOOKIN TO PIMP THEIR OWN GD CHILDREN OUT TO GET A BUCK!!!! SEND THOSE BASTARDS TO GET ASS RAPED FOR USING THEIR KIDS LIKE PAWNS IN SOME FINACIAL CHESS GAME!!!

    Not saying he's innocent by any stretch of the imagination either....just can't believe these people put their kids near him.... unless they just crawled out of the cave after 20 years!!!

    I agree bro 100% with the parents being at fault for putting their children in harms way, espeically after the first time he was accused and made it go away by paiding the parents 20 mil. They changed the laws out here in cali because of that. With that said, he is still a very sick indivdual who is going to do it again because of all the crazy Jackson fans that still consider him god. If someone molested my daughter, no amount of money would stop me and my entire family from trying to end the molester's life on are own terms. The only case that would be going to court would be my murder trial.

    Thats why I listen to metal .......... no bullshit , just real music created by real people. Nothing wrong with what I listen to :)

    But yeah , jmaltz --- the music industry itself is filled with a bunch of talent-less weirdos that look to shock people , or at least focus their attention away from the fact that they suck at what they do ...... which is make music .

    Pop stars are a joke ...... and they should all die. Seriously..... When you go to see a pop act you're basically listening to the CD thru a PA system . Cause most of it is studio "magic" , which can't be re-created live.

    Its all about the look ..... doesnt matter if your gay , str8 , have a love for animals, etc. If you look like a pop star , then you are a pop star.
    Throw some piercings in there , and your in a mainstream hard rock act .( gay )

    Its all about the 'look' ...... which f'n sickens me.

    Its even more sickening to realize that people in general eat this shit up with a spoon, and can't shovel it in fast enough.

    That's why they call it "Pop" music and the deliver what the masses want. There is nothing wrong with that. If people, in general, wanted something different, the artists would deliver something different. What's the big deal?

    No doubt. All the feigned disdain for "pop" music cracks me up. It reminds me of when so-called "alternative" got so popular that it became "pop". All "pop" means is what's most-popular right now.. that's it.

    (Even more amusing.. the knuckleheads who decide what they like based on whether or not it's popular.. referring to bands they once liked as "sell-outs" once they start making money.)

    I agree with CFH. Les Claypool is probably the best music/songwriter ever. The only reason he isnt famous is because he isnt gay, or didnt pee on an underaged girl in a sex tape. stars like les have only one way to get famous. die at a very young age. and les isnt up for the whole dying thing. wait i completely forgot what we were talking about. who cares cuz CLAYPOOL OWNZ.
