Direct everyone in your post to http://www.randi.org/site/index.php/1m-challenge.html .
Explain to everyone that there has never been any real psychic.
Then read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cold_reading on Wiki and see how its all just a scam.
Go to YouTube and watch all the psychics be debunked. -
it is much more remarkable and memorable when a psychic is "right" regarding their "prediction" about something than when they are wrong. the psychic probably also said 80 other things to her that never happened, and all of which were forgotten by the mother.
Madame Ruby: For twenty dollars I can tell you a lot of things. For thirty dollars I can tell you more. And for fifty dollars I can tell you *everything*.
Pee-wee: Tell me why I'm here first.
Madame Ruby: You're here because you... want something! -
come on man...
it's annoying to me when people can't accept coincidences because they seem so unlikely. that's the goddamn point; sometimes two ideas coincide. -
I dated a energy healer once. She was FN nuts. We were drunk one night and she was showing me all these "special rocks". So I start touching them and she tells me how now she has to wash them the next day cause somebody besides her touched them. NUTS
-
it may surprise you guys, but i am well aware of these things. its not like i had never thought about this stuff, then happened upon this story and am now convinced.
-
oh, so you were just joking about it possibly being more than a coincidence.
phew. -
an old family friend migrated illegally to the states in the mid 90s. His first job was being a psychic reader in MN.

He worked at a soap factory before hand. -
nope wasn't joking. i think it is possibly more than a coincidence. but i am not basing that on just this one anecdote.

phew.
cold reading is def a thing, and i think there are people who can fool others into thinking they have psychic ability. -
i think the x was not just on his face, not sure tho :-)
also coincidentally, a woman who had end stage cancer and was told by doctors that there was nothing they could do for her anymore was carried into Mary's office by her sons for energy healing work. after some amt of time (weeks or so) the woman had returned to work. a fortunate coincidence for her. -
also coincidentally, there was a young HS kid who broke his ankle really bad and doctor's said he wouldnt play sports again and werent optimistic. He spent about 4-5 sessions with Mary over 2 weeks and when the ankle was re X-rayed, the doctor didnt believe it was the same ankle due to the improvement.
pretty sure research shows that touch therapy is real and effective. why not take a step farther and consider the possibilty that some people may be able to have some control over their touch therapy? -
are you fucking kidding? no, i dont believe in magic quack science healers. but i do believe in gullible people.
100% sure there is no "research" showing touch therapy to be effective. -
A lot of chicks think touch therapy is quackary, at least in my experience
-
a quick google search tells me it was debunked by a 9-year-old girl.

Emily Rosa, at 9 years of age, conceived and executed a study on therapeutic touch. With the help of Stephen Barrett from Quackwatch, and with the assistance of her mother, Linda Rosa, RN, Emily became the youngest research team member to have a paper accepted by the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) for her part in a study of therapeutic touch, which debunked the claims of therapeutic touch practitioners. Twenty-one practitioners of therapeutic touch participated in her study, and they attempted to detect her aura. The practitioners stood on one side of a cardboard screen, while Emily stood on the other. The practitioners then placed their hands through holes in the screen. Emily flipped a coin to determine which of the practitioner's hands she would place hers near (without, of course, touching the hand). The practitioners then were to indicate if they could sense her biofield, and where her hand was. Although all of the participants had asserted that they would be able to do this, the actual results did not support their assertions. After repeated trials the practitioners had succeeded in locating her hand at a rate not significantly different from chance.[4][5][7] JAMA editor George D. Lundberg, M.D, recommended that patients and insurance companies alike refuse to pay for therapeutic touch or at least question whether or not payment is appropriate "...until or unless additional honest experimentation demonstrates an actual effect.

so people recovered from cancer? and a bone fracture? and to think, 2 of them visited the same building at some point in time...

wow, that's a really interesting coincidence OP
edit - and if you actually saw that paper was debunked you wouldn't have linked it like it was some sort of legitimate response. have enough respect for the scientists ffs to ignore junk science, or at least present and honest complete opinion, without resorting to playing the role of "relaying coincidences." -
one time they had a psychic on Deal or No Deal...long story short, she didnt win the million
-
dont know anything about "touch healing," but semantically speaking there is a huge difference between psychics and "energy healing." While I am sure that are tons of types of energy healing which are pure bullshit, but acupuncture could be considered energy healing. It's not effective in treating everything, but its certainly a very real form of medical treatment for many ailments.

My mathematical mind tells me that he is just another statistic...
