"LSU sophomores Spencer Ware and Tyrann Mathieu will be suspended for Saturday's game against Auburn after reportedly failing a drug test, a source told The Daily Reveille on Wednesday.
The suspensions could turn into multiple-game suspensions as well."
What impact will this have on their national title chances? -
lets see how much the line changes and how fast!
just came here to post this -
I'd feel worse for Mathieu if he wasn't such an obnoxious douche all the time on the field.
-
multiple game suspensions...thats funny.
its college and weed! get the fuck over it people!! if you didnt smoke weed in college, you didnt fucking go to college! -
oh snap

I think he is more over the top douche bc he has become such a stud after being barely recruited and a nobody...that usually happens when people's head get too big and their ego overflows... -

I'm a lifelong LSU fan and I'll be the first to say that Mathieu's ego is completely out of hand. I figured he'd just get some stupid taunting penalty in a big game. This is much worse.Originally Posted by LSUfan
and you say this all the time? why? b/c he talks shit? so i guess every defender that does some bs/retarded dance after making a play is a douche? what's the diff?
Also, his backup was suspended (Simon) which makes it doubly bad. -
I liked Auburn +22.5 when I heard Auburn was switching to their other QB, this makes me that much happier. I could almost advocate a play on the overs as I think LSU will still move the ball on Auburn but I obviously think Auburn can do the same on LSU, Dyer will need to have a big game obviously.
-
Unless Auburn gets rewarded a new QB and an entire defensive line also for the failed drug test, doubt this is a story at all.
-
Just moved a point where I looked. I already liked Auburn +22.5 so I'm sure LSU will now win like 49-0 or something :P

Don't agree with this at all. If you can't not smoke weed to make millions upon millions upon millions then I don't feel the least bit sorry for them -

I know these guys dont have the same experience as most college athletes but in my experience (knew and hung out with multiple basketball players at UT, while living with one also) they knew when the drug tests were coming and yes some of them still failed bc they couldnt/wouldnt stop...I blame Les for not fully allowing them the time to get it out of their system, lol...
Reason: double negative means he agrees. -
This, fuck. Glad I bet auburn+22.5

U can make a smug response if u want, that's your decision but I can guarantee you that having drug suspensions can cost players a ton of $... Maurice Clarett comes to mind. Whole point is when u can be a top 5 pick you might wanna be able to control something that could cost you a lot of $.

obv if they keep having issues then your comment makes more sense...but smoking weed on your downtime is the equivalent of drinking alcohol...pretty much no matter what you think...imo, if you test for weed, you should be testing for alcohol since most of these kids are underage anyway.
edit: and fwiw I understand what you are saying but doubt college kids are thinking that smoking weed while they are having fun on downtime is gonna cost them millions upon millions upon millions upon millions etc etc...maybe when they are seniors and getting ready to be drafted they will have learned by then...maybe. -
Your opinion doesn't really matter though. NFL GM's and coaches are the only ones who do, and history has shown that character issues cost you $$.

I agree that smoking is not a "character issue" and maybe you should test for alcohol too, but they don't and thats how it is. Knowing that you are getting tested and still flunking one means you are an idiot, or don't care about consequences. -
sorry I didnt realize he was a redshirt sophomore...and after reading his bio, I still didnt realize that since it didnt say that anywhere...has the NFL changed its rules about being 3 years out of high school before being drafted??
