Okay, long time lurker, occasional poster, and now for my first rant. Let me say I have degree in English so it is not like I don't have appreciation for the language and how to use it. But, I am so tired of the little old ladies on this site who are constantly criticizing other people for their grammar in their posts. This is a poker discussion site not an english grammar site. I know you feel so superior when you are able to point out how some top ranked player uses, gasp, improper English. We know you can't point out their mistakes in the poker playing and we know that they are by far superior to you in poker skill so you attack their grammar, like a bunch of little old ladies. I come to this site to learn about poker and to see what YourTimeisUp is stirring up in the poker world. I am sure there are sites out there that do discuss how the youth of today is ruining the world with their slang and ending of sentences in prepositions. I am sure some people find this type of discussion absolutely scintillating. Maybe go join one of those sites, or I suggest if you have nothing better to contribute to the discussion then the ability to point out grammatical mistakes then maybe go to off topic and start your own thread about the end of the world coming because of what the youth of this country is doing to the english language. Then I can avoid that thread and not waste time reading about how this top ranked player sounds like an idiot because of their grammar. I think that many of these attacks actually are trying to compensate for what they lack in other areas, or because their thinking is actually a little too complex for you and you feel bad because some kid who doesn't care about english and spelling is actually smarter than you and to make yourself feel better you attack them in a thread. I am sure there are some of you who do this that actually think that they are helping people out by pointing out their mistakes in English. If you are one these people are truly have good intentions toward someone and are truly concerned about how these people sound to the rest of the world, then I would suggest maybe a PM to the person expressing such sentiments and concerns and don't attack them in public. Also if you are going to be nitpicky and attack other people for their grammatical mistakes then at least step up to the plate and don't make mistakes of your own. An example of this in another thread to day. THEKING65 attacks M8kingmoves for his grammar and says it is embarrassing when your 8 year old can write better than you. Everybody knows you do not just hit the 8 key for the number 8 when you are writing this is an unacceptable shortcut to convey what you are trying to say and while everyone knows and understands what you are trying to say you must really take the time to type out eight otherwise you are kinda of like the person you are criticizing. While, I would be willing to concede that your offense seems like the lesser of the two since you have taken it upon yourself to correct others then you have placed the burden of being perfect yourself, if you can't handle this burden. Then just STFU. I don't read what M8kingmoves writes to learn about English, I pay attention to learn about poker and I think he might know a little something about that game. And, I have never had trouble understanding what he was saying. Thanks for listening and flame away I know it is coming.

I stopped reading. I never harassed anyone for the use of english (and I couldn't care less on how they're spelling words). The only problem I have is the inability to separate large format of text. That's all.

The OP has readily admitted that his post is a rant, therefore, paragraphs are not required.

I'd rather see someone type "8-year-old" than "eight year old." As others have noted, paragraphs are your friend. Where did you get this English degree?
