My little 14 year old brother was at this church youth group early today and left his phone in his jacket while playing basketball. He didn't realize till after he came home that the phone was gone. We tried calling it a few times, it rang, 20 mins later it was turned off, and then 30 mins later it was turned back on but obv no1 answered, so we know some1 has it. Does any1 here know of a way to find the phone? I'm not going to suspend the service for a day so the idiot can leave a trail for me to follow, but thats the only idea I have...

I had a similar experience with a lost phone. I must have dropped it getting out of my car at a friend's house. It was near a high school and I found out later that a couple of kids picked it up. First I called the phone and left a message on the voicemail, which they would have access to. An hour or two later, I blew up the phone, and someone answered. They told me it wasn't my phone, and gave me some garbage about a friend lending the phone to them. Blah blah blah, I went to an AT&T store and bought a new SIM card and had my account switched to that SIM (I had a backup phone to use). Now that I had my number back, I started getting calls from friends of the person who had my phone, and they were most definitely not expecting it from me. All this happened during school hours, so I told the kids that they should turn the phone into the office so that I could get my contact list back. I told them I wasn't going to try and get them in trouble, I just wanted it back. I went by the school and lo and behold, they decided to quit being douche bags and turned it in to the office. Now depending on the value of the phone, that may or may not happen in your case, but you can at least get that phone cancelled pretty easily, depending on your carrier. But as far as finding it, unless it is a smartphone and prior to the theft you installed a locater app, you are probably screwed.

text a message to it with "reward" in the subject line. then if phone is returned have the little rascal say five "Hail Marys" and ten "Our Fathers" before you beat his ass. of course then it will be your turn to be repentant.

Send them a text from God, demanding they return the phone or he'll strike them down where they stand with forks of lightning and banish their souls to hell.
If this doesn't work he obviously lost it before he got to church group and is afraid to tell you. -
Yeah I have a tracker setup on my phone. I get GPS coords from it and can e-mail/text it and it will start ringing even if the ringer is off.
Smart phone FTW. -
he gone
