  1. Some dude jumped off the parking garage at Harrah's Chester yesterday. His body was covered up but there was a huge pool of blood, pretty disturbing. Is it standard practice to not report suicides at casinos in the news? Haven't heard a thing on the news or found anything online, and I've read that events like these are usually kept real hush hush as to not make the almighty casinos look bad. Word was he lost $25K and decided to off himself, but that's just hearsay. I play poker there regularly, and was hoping it was not one of the regular donators or else I may have to bring back some christmas presents. But seriously, very sad and hope it was not someone I would know or someone who has any family for that matter.
  2. Growing up in NJ, I used to hear these types of stories reported now and again in AC. Strange if this wasn't in the local newspapers.
  3. Sorta close to home for me. That's the 3rd closest casino to me and I know some people that play there weekly. $25k tho? Seems a little soft.

FWIW, I've felt like jumping before due to gambling losses, but I'm way too much of a pussy. I see vivid imagine of my family, specifically my mother and sisters, just bawling and felt awful for even thinking about it. I've blown thru quite a few bankrolls and it seems like things always work out. Having no money truly does suck, but it's not the end of the world. I guess it's tough to see that sometimes when you're in the situation. Sucks for this persons family.
  4. I live real close to the casino and this is the first i heard about it.

Id be afraid to jump off that garage, its not that high, with my luck i would live but be paralyzed and have to eat through a straw for the rest of my life.
  5. It wasn't in the news because he was thrown off the roof by the casino employees.

  6. nobody wins with suicide
  7. wow, I almost played there last night, crazy
  8. Heard he was 23 and not a poker player. I was about to head over when my buddy text me and told me.

Didn't know so many ot'ers thought my home turf, was their home turf.
  9. Yea, I play poker there 3-4 times a week now that theres no internet poker. If I hadnt been there wouldnt have heard a thing about it...its weird.

  10. From what I have heard, this type of thing isn't reported in Vegas. Not sure about elsewhere.

I know that a jumper ko'd an AC unit at the Stratosphere during the summer a few years ago. No news about it.

    ^this, hahahaha! wp
  12. Casinos do not report them, and local munis do not like bad press about their cash cows. Nothing bad EVER happens in a casino . . . no turn back to that roulette wheel, please.
  13. the m resort in vegas which has been open for two years has had 3 people off themselves in the rooms. never makes the news. happens a lot more than you know.

but did they tip the maid who found them?
  14. that's fucked... sucks for the people that had to see it
  15. Anyone heard from WAR today?

That parking garage is only like 60 feet. He probably didnt die right away.
Oh and back in the day I talked to the bell hop at the Trop in AC and he told me it was like 3 or 4 times a year someone jumped out a window or off the roof and it never made the news

  16. yeah a co-worker of mine plays there every weekend and always talks about how broke he is. if i hadn't of talked to him today, i would have assumed this was him.

that place sucks though.. you're about 20% likely to be stabbed, robbed or raped in the parking lot. which i guess, depending on the mood you're in, may be what you're looking for.
  17. ummmm WAR needs to check in lol

this and also i believe there is a thread on 2+2 for suicides in vegas
  19. I don't think suicides are usually reported wherever they take place, although for a local paper to report a suicide at a major advertiser would be suicide as well.
  20. I heard he forgot to pay the progressive at the pai gow (sp.?) table.

Sick brag about having a gaping vagina.

(The Nets are gonna be good, dammit.)
  27. Generally, newspapers do not report suicides for fear of encouraging the practice.
  28. he dove head first....we were talking about it at my tournament.

  30. Makes no sense to kill yourself for losing money. The least u could do is rob a bank if u get caught suicide by cop. Always a chance you might get away with it.
