Officially begins July 1st.
Should be lots of movement this offseason. Here are the big moves that are official so far. Obv tons of randos have moved too, but these guys are actually good:
Eden Hazard to Chelsea
Didier Drogba to Shanghai Shenhua (the Barca rumors are apparently just crap)
Shinji Kagawa from Dortmund to Man U
Niko Krancjar left Spurs for Russia
Large amounts of money in play as City and Chelsea open up the wallets for Champs League runs and China starts throwing money around (Drogba, Yakubu, ??? to join last year's Anelka move)... oh and PSG is rich too, plus the usual suspects.
Modric linked to everywhere.
Bale staying at Spurs.
Balotelli going everywhere. Including staying at City.
Where will the Napoli strikers go?
Van Persie?
etc etc etc.
WUG OT?
Expecting tons of things to start flying around once Spain spikes another title tonight... Jordi Alba and Javi Martinez will probably move to the big boys as well. -
Thome was traded to the orioles for two minor leaguers.
good move for both. -
it was decided a whlie ago, but Marco Reus is going from Moenchengladbach to Dortmund.
-
LDO Oops. Reus was one of the players who impressed me most at Euros and I was absolutely baffled when he didn't play in the Balotelli concert.

Oh yeah and Podolski to Arsenal, can they still get out of that after seeing how non-impressive he looked at Euros? -
Edited By: Nickc011 Jul 1st, 2012 at 05:22 AMPodolski looked fine, he had the highest completed pass % when he got pulled off at halftime in the semi. He scored a solid goal too, he was still a great bit of business. There were a lot of good players that have had poor tournaments... Robbed and sneijder were terrible - ozil didn't play as well as he could either.Originally Posted by zander

Arsenal has also signed Olivier giroud from montpellier. He won the golden boot in France last year with 21 in the league. 6' 4", pace and a solid first touch -- think he should fit in well. Arsenal need to bring in a midfielder like m'vila to help stabilize things there, so many defensive problems caused last season from balls being given away in midfield. -
Where do you guys think Jess Bhamra is gonna end up?
-
LLoris might leave Lyon although President is denying it. Would be a 15 million transfer.
Lyon not playing champion's league next year + financial difficulties for the club won't help to try to keep him -
Whats liverpool up to?
-
I assume Spurs announce manager on Monday, figure slower day tomorrow with Euro Final and all but who knows. Seems like its AVB is the odds on favorite and I would be fine with that. Lots of interesting names have come through the rumor mill so I'm excited to see what Levy can do.

Gt the impression that lloris isnt as touted as he once was, but I think 15m would be a great price for anyone in need of a gk -
I think it's going to be AVB as well, although I've always been a big fan of Roberto Martinez.

Toon will sign a Frenchman, a Dutchman, and a dead guy. Hey their scouts can't be right EVERY time, can they?

Amalfitano is officially in the mid-field at St. James, so that's the Frenchman covered . . . -
Doubt it will happen but would love us to sign Javi Martinez
-
Jordi Alba has already signed for Barca hasnt he?
-
Cant stand all the speculation bullshit. That whole Sneijder to United last year did my head in
-
What speculation. ManCity and Chelski are in for everybody who is available with a price tag above $5M . . . ManU is slightly more finicky, Liverpool will try and get first dibs on whoever Barca and Real don't want, and Spurs and the Gunners will look over the scraps, sniff imperiously and say that they are happy with their signings. Come December people will look northward and ask, where does Newcastle FIND these guys?
AGAIN. -
I think United will go for Leghton Baines though 17mill a bit strong. Definitely need a left back. Evra has been playing 50+ games a season for last 3 or 4 years. He was amazing but last year or so has gone off the boil and at 31 i cant imagine him getting back to being as good as he was
Problem is that United dont need to be spending 17 mill on a left back. Especially when the Glazers dont want to spend. The cunts -
What do you Londoners/other opinionated souls think of AVB to Spurs?
I kinda like it, not a team filled with aging cunts ripe to back into a CL title... I think he'll fit a lot better here. -
Dempsey?
-
Mostly Arsenal rumors and he's said he really wants to play in the Champions' League, but haven't heard much of late and Arsenal's name is attached to lots of players. If they lose RVP, maybe, but they've already spent money on an aging offensive player so not sure how many more they want.
-
Edited By: Nickc011 Jul 2nd, 2012 at 07:30 AMHe doesn't really fit the arsenal mold, he'll be too expensive for his age to tempt arsene, IMO. I'd love to see him at the emirates, but dont think it will happen.Originally Posted by zander

There will be a lot of players leaving arsenal this summer. Bendtner, Vela, Chamakh, Djourou, Almunia has already gone, Arshavin and a few others. That will bring in a decent amount of cash and free up a lot from these players wages. I really could see Dempsey coming in to be honest. Wouldnt be that expensive, lots of PL exprerience, think he would jump at the chance as well. Dont know if it will but i could see it happening. Think he would be a great signing for anyone.
-
Plus with them signing Giroud in addition to Podolski, it just isn't happening.

Some transfers that have been talked about for a while but became official today...
Dirk Kuyt, Liverpool ----> Fehnerbahce
Marko Marin, Bremen----> Chelsea
Olivier Giroud, Montpelier----> Arsenal
Vedran Corluka, Spurs----> Lokomotiv Moscow
and some others that may have been missed because ESPN bastards only list EPL transfers
Xherdan Shaqiri, Basel-Bayern
Claudio Pizarro, Bremen-Bayern
Marco Reus, Munchinggladbags-Dortmund
Mario Mandzukic, Wolfsburg-Bayern
Mark Van Bommel, Milan-PSV
Ricardo Montolivo, Fiorentina-Milan
and as we've clearly established, I somehow missed the Jordi Alba to Barca official announcement even though it's been out there for months. -
Arsenal is trying to get goalkeeper Lloris for 15 millions. Lyon agrees to give him up for 20-25 millions.
To be continued -
Saw this earlier. Dont think there is any chance this happens.
-
He is a very good fit for english premier league. He is fantastic with his head, he is great as a fixation point in offense because he controls and protects the ball very well and the wingmen will have a lot of open space thanks to that.
