lol, djg is going hang himself. Henry, Toure, Clichy, Nasri, Fabregas, RVP, Song, etc. And now Walcott, only a few days after Wenger called him "very important" to the team.

Forget being a feeder club for Barca, more like for Man City. Since after getting their second bid rejected for Sinclair, I can def see them stepping up their game for Theo. Same type of game changing pace, but I'd take Walcott all day long.
  2. Looking like hes not leaving at the moment, and has expressed his desire to play for the club long term but didn't like being pressured with ultimatum's to get a new deal. Not sure what kind of game he is playing, but its odd. I hope we see some movement before Friday, regardless of which way it is.

Theo is a great player against teams that play an expansive/attacking game, and will cause massive problems for any fullback that likes to get forward. However, he is pretty much useless and far to often disappears from the game against competition that like to pack it in on defense (>60% of the league?). He has little dribbling creativity, and his best move is to kick it past the defender and try and beat him to the end line.

That being said, I would like him to re-sign and stay at the club simply because he is useful, his finishing has gotten better, and it would be a shame to lose a player over an extra £15-£25K a week, when you've invested 6+ years in developing him into the player he is today.

If he goes, I don't think Arsenal will miss him a great deal - unless there are lots of injury issues. I'm ready for the window to close!

  3. Javi Martinez to Bayern is official for 40 million Euros, most expensive Bundesliga transfer of all time...

Really interested to see what Spurs do, still pissed they aren't doing anything with Dos Santos... think it would be amazing if they sold him and used the Modric and Gio money to buy someone shocking. Like Rooney.

  4. Rooney would never go to spurs, they're too small of a club and can't afford his wages. He's on something silly like £225-250k/ week. Only city, Chelsea, Madrid, and may e Barcelona could/would pay that. Maybe PSG, but I doubt he wants to go to france. I'm sure saf and rooney will make up soon anyway, they always do.

I would actually be pretty happy to see him go if we got in a replacement or used the cash to strengthen another position. He is soooooooooooo inconsistent and is only really worth havig on the pitch in open games and how often do Arsenal play against open teams? like 75% of the time the teams just come and park the bus on front of goal and in them games Walcott is pretty much useless. He barely ever uses his pace which is his main attribute. We have players at the club already that i think do a better job and on a more regular basis. So what i am trying to say is that i hope we sell.

Think the only team that could afford him and would want him would be City. Still think all the Rooney stuff is a load of shit and he will be at United for the rest of his career. If he was going to leave it would have been when he said he was going before signing the new contract.

  8. Deadline day, let's get the info rolling in.

Rafa VDV off to Hamburg, very sad to see him depart. Reports Moutinho is in. Trying to offload Jenas and others. Should be interesting...Levy Time!
  9. CMON! Liverpool? Tottenham? Someone step up and snag Dempsey!
  10. This is just brutal to watch, 3 hours to go. Seems like Lloris is a sure thing for Spurs. Moutinho is up in the air...lol if we don't land him after letting VDV go

It really is shocking that no one has bid for him. Villa had a bid accepted of £7M earlier today - but moving from Fullham to go fight relegation at Villa isn't ideal for the player. He would pay for himself in jersey sales / marketing to the US at that price - even if he completely flopped.

If he was british, the price tag would be £17M and there would be several teams in.

  12. Looks like Tottenham stepped up and got him. Looks like I have to get a Hotspurs jersey now!

pretty bummed if they do sign him, I know he really wanted to play in the champions league but it doesn't look like he'll get that chance.

Was he ever linked with a CL club? Liverpool sure as hell isn't there and won't be going there either.
  15. Lloris to Spurs with Freidel still playing extremely well doesn't seem like money well spent.
Nice moves by MC with Maicon and Javi Garcia. Wouldn't think Richardson will stay long there. Thought he played really well last season.

Maicon looks a bit past it, but isn't too far removed from being one of the best RB's in the world. City is probably a good spot for him, won't have to play every week but can put in a good shift when needed. Garcia too is an example of how good deals are still available, hes a solid player that came in for a reasonable (city standards) fee.

Arsenal were 'rumored' to have interest, and supposedly one of the scouts requested a lot of tape on him yesterday -- who knows if any of that is true. Was hoping that things would come together for him @ the Emirates. Have to trust Arsene though, seems to know what hes doing. Can't help but wonder how long you can keep banking a profit in the transfer window and still stay in the Champions League.

Rangers, who were relegated to the Scottish third division due to financial problems had a greater net spend than Arsenal did during the transfer window. Sigh.

  18. Wtf Liverpool?

Friedel is 41...I mean how long do you expect him to play?

I'd keep him as long as he was still awesome.

I look forward to watching Bale obliterate Maicon again like he did in the CL 2 years ago.

  22. Typed a long post earlier that got lost to the 5 mins per day auto update, so here's brief thoughts.

Love the City signings and the fact that they got rid of Stefan Savic, am disappointed to lose De Jong but I understand he's surplus to requirements. The young defender looks like a smart move for the future, Maicon is only 3 years removed from being one of the best in the world and can only help by adding depth (and giving Zabaleta more opportunities to play on the left instead of the right) to a squad that now has the team to make a CL run despite that brutal, brutal group.

Lol Arsenal and especially Liverpool, way to do nothing and to spectacularly botch the Dempsey situation.

Liked Spurs' moves a lot this window. Love the Dempsey signing, grand larceny at this price. Happy to see they sold my beloved Giovani Dos Santos to Mallorca, hopefully he gets regular PT and shows the world how good he really is. Like the Lloris signing even though they need to dump a keeper now. He might not even start over Friedel for this season, but he's close to a top 10 keeper in the world, he's 25, and he answers questions at the position for the next 6-8 years or more if they get lucky. Kept Dawson. Losing Luka will hurt more than they know but they did a lot of things right... not sure why they didn't reach terms with Moutinho tho, that sucks.

Carroll looks like a great move so far for West Ham, killing it tonight.

Oh and I love Chelsea's offseason but think they really need some defensive depth (and someone to teach David Luiz how to defend) and must regret not signing Falcao after last night. He's one of the two or three best strikers alive right now and it seems like one of the big rich clubs should be snapping him up from Atletico.

  23. I think Moutinho will join Spurs in early January. He wants out and, like Modric, it is just a question of cutting through all the drama and getting the deal done. I would be shocked if he does not have a Spurs jersey on before the end of the season.

Personally, I am satisfied with the Toon. A few tweaks, but I think they improved simply by not losing any of their prizes this summer. Lets see what Pardew can conjure now that Newcastle is not a surprise. For me, eighth place and up will be a good season . . . European play will be a bonus, and I think the UCL is a dream at the moment.

  24. Excited for today's game. Want to see a convincing win. Norwich beating us at home last year was maybe the most inexplicable points we gave up down the stretch. Three points behind last years pace after those first two results, need to get back on track today.

Nope. Glad I brought in Bale during my Wild Card.

Lucky draw for Spurs, got straight worked. Embarrassing. Dembele's goal was class though. Happy there's a two week break now, they need it. Come back I don't want to see Defoe starting again, he can't be a lone striker. Dempsey added into the mix will help as well.
  27. Wow, while I slept Zenit St Petersburg spent 80 million Euros total and bought Hulk (5 year deal) and Axel Witsel (incredibly talented 23 year old Belgian, also 5 years)... so weird to see random teams coming out of nowhere and buying guys destined for the big clubs. Yesterday was the deadline for registering players for Champions League too, so perfect timing for them...

  28. not overly familiar with Witsel, but spending €40m on any transfer is ridiculous.... much less spending €40m on two in one day.
