CHICAGO, Jan. 23, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A nationwide boycott of Starbucks stores and its products will be launched on Valentine's Day 2012. Its goal is to eliminate the risk of guns in public places and ultimately to bring sane gun laws to the U.S.

This boycott is being called by the National Gun Victim's Action Council (NGAC), a network of 14 million gun victims, the faith community including the: Episcopal Peace Fellowship, United Church of Christ, Fellowship of Reconciliation (46 peace fellowships and 43 affiliate fellowships),secular groups working to reduce gun violence and many of the organizations that support passing sane gun laws.

more guns = less bullets flying around

less guns = more bullets flying around

zero guns = infinite bullets flying around

infinite guns = zero bullets flying around

  19. Who genuinely supports having guns? The worst logic pro-camp people bring is that 'it urrr helps me protect my inbred family and shit'. Pisses me off and its not even my country. More guns = more dead people it really is that simple.

lol, I am assuming you speak of the irrational paranoia and fear that causes sheep to think they are safer in areas with large numbers of guns in the hands of laypersons.

I just finished off our starbucks this morning and will buy any coffee except starbucks - at least until they change their policy, maybe never if I find better coffee today/soon. and from what people itt (and other threads) have said, starbucks coffee sucks and this is a blessing for me.
  24. To protest the people protesting the protest, I'm going to shoot anyone I see drinking starbucks on that day. Fuck yeah.
  25. I thought I heard somewhere that Starbucks is going to start serving liquor and beer now. And that some already do in the major cities like Seattle?

WTF, are people going to start going there to get drunk now?

How in Holy Fuck is it irrational? So there aren't thousands of pointless shootings in the USA every year by fucking idiots who were far too easily allowed to obtain a gun? Put up a viewpoint yourself instead of slating me.

Actually there arent thousands of pointless shootings in the U.S. every year. A high majority of the shootings have a point, you, or the public in general, just might not like that point.
  28. 1. this is a very odd protest

    2. stricter gun laws lead to things like plaxico burress being put in the pokey for two years for shooting himself in the leg. i think that's a ridiculous outcome.

so this plaxico burress thing is an example of how guns make people safer simply because they are present?

or is this what I was talking about, more guns in the hands of laypersons = more likely that bullets are flying around the room that I am in and hurting/killing me/the other humans??

huh? no. i didn't say anything about the "it makes people safer" argument. it's an iffy argument w/ empirical evidence that goes both ways.

i think strict gun laws are stupid for the same reason i think drug laws are stupid: you lock up people who for possession of a thing, not for an action that directly causes harm.
