Survivor Pool Strategy

    This is my first year playing in a survivor pool I'm alive through W3. Picks so far have gotten lucky.

    W1 ARI vs. CAR
    W2 NYJ vs. JAX
    W3 PIT @ IND

    i'm thinking GB or SD in W4. should i blow my load this early on the good teams or is it win now worry about the tough shit later?

    I always pick the game I am most sure of every week, I don't worry about using the big teams too early. I don't think there is really an advantage in saving teams, as you never know how things might look in a few weeks. Players get hurt, other teams get hot -- it will be tough at the end, but if your still in near the end, your doing better than most.

    I never ever pick a road team. Hopefully you figured that out by the near fail on week 3

    I think it depends on how many people are competing. If there are a ton of competitors I like to save some good teams till later since I know I'll have to go pretty deep. But if it's a small number then I just go ahead with Nick's strategy since you don't need to make it as far into the season.

    Packers or Saints are my pick this wk. I took Houston v indy wk 1. Pitt v Seattle wk 2 and Chargers v Chiefs this past week

    i've been trying to steer clear of both division and road games. last week didn't seem to have any home/non-division locks.

    This has always been a rule of mine. I broke that rule for the first time in 3 seasons when I took Pitt this week.

    Btw, I also like to map out my season. As of right now, I have my picks set through week 12. I usually change one or two along the way, but I like to plan ahead a bit.

    i've actually got through W17 set, but i'm obv looking to change some of them since chiefs suck, lions are good, etc.

    and W4 has
    IND @ TB, but in MNF. scared they'll play an iffy Bucs team hard because of the center stage.
    KC vs. MIN, don't know that the Vikes on the road are a betable commodity.

    I went with:

    Arizona vs Carolina
    NYG vs St. Louis (was traveling all week, forgot to make my pick -- had to choose the MNF game)
    SD vs KC

    Week 4 I'm pretty sure I'm taking Green Bay over Denver -- seems like the surest thing to me.

    Don't follow football too much but i'm in a survivor league. this week is the last week that we can re-buy if we lose. I picked Cleveland...decent pick??
