tip but smaller then you would normally. usually 10% is customary i think.
-
usually like $1 or $2 / whatever small bills and coins make up the change
-
I tip them a couple bucks. If the chick is super hot I give her a couple extra. My wife hates that.
-
Fuck No.
Whats next? I guess we might as well start tipping at drive-thrus as well -
Well if they are bringing it out to your car thats def worth a tip. I was under the impression op meant he called in and went inside to pick up himself, which in this case i do not tip.
-
I am a server and no server wants to take your call and get your order ready and write in your order because we have tables and other guests to be worrying about. Servers only do it because they are told to. 10% is the proper "to-go" tip even if they don't take it to your car.
-
yeah thats what i meant. like, when i pick up at outback and they bring it to the car, then I will usually tip like 10%. But when I go in to a restaurant and pick up the food at the bar area or whatever, I generally never thought to tip before...

There are very few people that you should not tip. I mean why not, it is only a little money and you may make their day being the only one tipping them. There are people that are not allowed to take tips and if they tell you this, try anways, if they don't take it then that is ok (most fast food places don't allow tipping). People that should be tipped, everybody at a restaraunt (I mean everybody, you should even tip before the meal-you will always get great service), order in food, delivery drivers, counter service, bellman, door man/bouncers(always give this guy a $50 or a $100 when you walk in the door, tell him where you will be sitting at and let him know that women are always welcome at your table-this works and it will get you laid more times than not), bar tenders, bag handlers, concierge, dealers, valets, pretty much anybody that does something for you that you could have done for yourself but didn't. Just my thoughts.

working in a restaurant I see the girls who do to go's do enough work that warrents a tip. Nothing I say will change anyones mind thoughand I certainly dont think your a dick if you dont tip the to go girl, but I always will.
-
If it is someone who is only doing to-go they get paid a little better around 7 dollars an hour.. servers on the other hand get paid 2.13 and hour so if a server is taking care of your togo item it def. warrants a tip. If it is a togo girl they get paid a little more because they know people don't always tip/ tip little money.
-
I usually only get take-out from restaurants that do most of their business as take-out, like chinese/thai restaurants...these I never tip.
Sometimes I get takeout from a place that I have to wait, and they offer me water while waiting, and that warrants a tip $1-2. -
LOL

If i'm ordering from a mom and pop type resturant, I'll usually tip a couple bucks. Corparate chains, no.
What pisses me off is that a lot of chains like Subway and Dunkin Donuts have started putting tip boxes at their registers. Not all locations but some. It makes me feel like a cheap bastard if I don't leave a dollar so I usually avoid these places. I'm sorry, I'm not going to tip for someone just putting a few donuts into a box, which is their job anyway. -
nope
-
If its a Chinese place or Mom and Pop deli or pizza shop I usually tip a buck and the change.
If its someone bringing it to my car its like 10 %. -
Waiter: 60%

why tip someone for a job I'm capable of doing myself? I can cook my own food. I can park my own vehicle. I can, and do, cut my own hair.
I did however tip my veterinarian because I am unable to give my dog rabies vaccines. -
tipping is customary in this situation, its usually the hostess that is doing the to go orders and they have to take the order box and bag the order make sure everything is correct grab any sides and utensils and bring it to you and make change.... it can be alot to do esp if you are busy
