    I made a decision today. Effective 1 February, I will be taking a month long break from the internet. I won't be on PocketFives, facebook, or any other site I may frequent and post on. The internet exception will be checking email, and I will limit myself to my college's website for obvious reasons.

    It is time to refocus myself on accomplishing the goals I have set, and to start using my time in a more productive manner. I think its going to be hard to resist logging in to see what's going on, but I have had other people tell me it gets easier after the first few days. I've actually been told its very liberating, which I find interesting. I'll give a full report of my thoughts on this come 1 March (or shortly thereafter).

    If any of you have done something similar to this, any feedback you can provide will be appreciated. I'll be around the rest of the night (at least before I go to the local poker game).

    If you need to contact me, send a message to my email or call/text my phone. After tonight, I'll be MIA for a month. If you don't have either one of those things, you probably don't need to contact me that badly anyhow.

    I'm thinking of going to Vegas for March Madness this year, so I'll definitely be on here seeing what you clowns are doing. Hope a bunch of people go out there this year.

    Yeah, that is one of my concerns. However, there is a long list of books I've been wanting to read. I might actually read the text for some of the classes I'm currently taking (I generally don't read all of it, just skim), so that when I graduate this year I'll have actually learned something instead of cram/dumping every class. I'll also be spending more time in the kitchen, making more healthy meals. We shall see how it goes.

    only because its my work phone, and on occasion I have mistakenly opened some of them at work, one of which had audio if you might remember. And yeah, that was awkward, lol.

    I did it just after I attempted to kill myself while on those antidepressant drugs.

    There was even a "where's jester" thread started.

    Getting away from all things other than email was nice for me. I do not need it right now but I've learned to take more time away from it since then. I have also changed my usage of the internet since. I research a lot of stuff now because I can't always go to the library so I use the online library from my old school as an alumni I have access to it.

    But, yea, it will be liberating for you.

    I've done this, I took 3 months off and ended up reading around 10 books.. hadn't read a book in over 5 years at that point too.. it does feel liberating cause sometimes you feel too dependent on the internet.

    I would have to break all internet ready devices. If not, i doubt i could go a week.

    I must add. Im crazy addicted to my smartphone. I broke it once and it took best buy 3 weeks to fix it, so i went almost a full week without any sort of phone. It was insanely hard at first, but it got easier. I imagine it would be the same.
