    I was having a conversation around my 11 yr old nephew and his friends and we were talking about the old days and using the pay phones and making collect calls but using the number of the phone instead of your name so the other person can call you back.

    These kids were like "how did a collect call work ? it went to your cell phone? wait a pager just gave the number?"....lol

    So we went on explaining the good ol days

    It blew their minds when we explained how a "emergency breakthrough" was done.... it was "omg so operators were actually real?"

    me and my gf were chilling at one of her friends house, and her friends younger brother was there with some of his friends too...ludacris' "stand up" came on the radio, and all these punks were like "what the fuck are we listening to? the oldies station???"

    and thats when i knew i was old

    facebook makes me feel old. its bad enough my feed is full of ugly fucking baby pictures cause im at the age all my friends are popping them out... a few months ago one of my friends that had kids real early was posting pics of his kids fucking prom! so i have friends that have kids going to proms, and will be soon popping out their own kids

    Took me a second but I think he's talking about "hanging up" the phone. Like you used to have to put the phone back on the hook instead of hitting a button to end the call so kids are like "wtf is this phone upside down for?"

    Can't wait to tell my kids I remember the rise of cell phones, the internet, TVs that weren't the size of a buick, and that I was born in the 20th century.

    Out of curiosity, i just took some screen shots on my phone. Is he talking about the outline of the phone? Like what the phone used to look like when we had old landline type phones?

    They have been that was since phones were invented, why would kids not being about figure out what it means?



    There is about 20 different icons that I would think are more confusing then the call and hang up icons.

    like the voicemail icon in your first pic. like kids know what answering machines were, let alone what the audio tape inside of them looked like.

    For some reason, I loved the blue background. I changed it a few times when I first got it and immediately went back to the default.

    I used to ride my bike as a 14 year old 12 or so miles to meet up with a girl at the fair. There were no payphones usually at the fair. So, if sometype of emergency or change of plan occurred, you would be left in the dark just waiting around at the assigned meet up spot.

    I usually gave a 30 minute no show policy before moving on to hunt the on the 4H girls that were present.

    Mindblowing really how "connected" we are now. You young guys have it so easy; on the other hand it was so much easier to upgrade the girl of the night and blow off meeting up with the lesser rated girl.
