  1. I am heading to Mexico in a couple of months and doing some research on tequila. My experience is pretty limited on high end tequila.

I was at a party last October and some guy that just came back from Cancun broke out a bottle, it was blue tinted and according to him had some hallucinogenic properties. All I know is it put me over the top that night and the details are a little fuzzy.

Anyone have any ideas of what it was or suggestions as to what I should buy to drink?
  2. tapwater
  3. ^^^

pretty much the only thing you should get in mexico
  4. You are doing research on tequila today for a trip you are taking in two months. You must have been a boy scout!

  6. Since when is Cancun part of Mexico?
  7. LMAO tapwater = insta weight loss to be followed up with hopsital visit for IV fluids
  8. Since always...all tequila that isnt Petron sucks imo
  9. Cabo Wabo FTW!
  10. tequila is the easiest way to get laid.
  11. Quite the Penis FTW

  12. You need to expand your horizons then. First off, if you're going to make a such a statement, check your spelling (it's Patron, not Petron), and second, there are a lot of very, very, very goot tequillas out there. Patron is probably the best. Tres Generations, Cazadores, and Corralejo are three that come to mind. But there are literally hundreds of tequilas in Mexico.
  13. Hence the "imo" and I know its spelled Patron just messed up, I dont like tequila in general and can really only drink Patron. One time in Cozumel I got so wasted off of prolly some generic shit that it changed my life lol.
  14. People who are into tequila would never think of drinking patron. It is smooth but considered tasteless. They have a very good ad campain but thats about it.

    Tezon
    Herradura
    Chinaco
    Corezon

Depending on the lable they range from $12 to $60 a pour.
  15. Tequila is fucking foul, whiskey FTW

  16. Specific brands aren't as important as general quality, just remember two things:

    1. Get maduro ("extra anejo", "extra aged" or "ultra aged") – aged a minimum of three years in oak barrels if possible. If not, añejo ("aged" or "vintage") – aged a minimum of one year, but less than 3 years in oak barrels is very good as well.

    2. It has to be 100% agave. Either of the above kinds obv will be.

Just go with the following as a criteria, & you'll be very pleased/drunk.
  17. ^^^^^^^
    listen to him only

  18. anything 100% blue agave is the nuts....

  19. If you have to have tequila, any kind with Aneja in the name or label is the better stuff. Or just go with Jose Cuervo or something along those lines.

I'd say don't do it though, Tequila is battery acid, and don't forget Mel Gibson's famous drunk-driving outburst was from a night of heavy Tequila drinking!!

Try to get your hands on some Guaro too, it's a central american hard liquor similar to Vodka but more painful.
  20. make sure its 100% agave on the label. Agave is the cactus type plant they make it from.
  21. az1969, you spelled Tres wrong. Its Tres Generaciones.

    PWNED!!? jk

    Carry on.
  22. you can drink the tap water in a restaurant and its fine because they have water filters in restaurants. and tequila is the only drink that can get me to dance
  23. Thanx all, I believe my path is clear, 100% blue agave aged 3 years in oak barrels.

I'm told our resort (Royal Mayan) has it's own water purification system so though I don't plan on drinking the water it should be safe to do so.
