  1. I've had a pretty bad last 18 months. I got fired from my job, had my brother disown me because I wasn't working, smoking to much weed and playing too much poker. Also been suffering with pretty cronic depression, my health suffered from my life style and my skin had a greyish apperance for a decent period of time.
I gave up weed about two months ago and my colour is back! I was almost to the brink of financial ruin and over the last few weeks have been trying to get a job and get back to a normal type of existence.
I thought I would apply for a few positions which in reality didn't think I had a chance to obtain. In the last week I've been offered two positions, one uninspiring position in a small office in an industrial area(which now I need to re-neg on). Today I was offered a position for one of the jobs I thought I had very little chance with, its with the largest securities(brokers) in Australia, my position is called a Core equities officer and I can't believe I got it.
Just wanted to thank OT for giving me a good laugh over these past dark days and also to give hope to anyone else in a similar position to myself.

*depressed, drug addicted, unemployed, hopeless, micro stakes fish one day.
    * New job, new hope the next (still a fish tho)
    * Thank OT for the entertainment
*I'm ready to tame the beast

  2. seize the opportunity. congrats.
  3. very good to hear. and it spreads some hope over here indeed.

edit: is there a thread about your brother disowning you? (if not, no biggie - no need to get into it) Cuz that's some weak shit right there.

Really? never once heard of this
  21. congrats on turning a corner op

as for the skin discoloration thing, after I quit smoking cigarettes I didn't notice any difference, but both of my sisters who are nurses brought up my complexion and how it looked so much healthier after quitting. I'm guessing that holds true for smoking anything frequently.
