was pretty epic.
from a spurs fan. -
Tough guy beard ftw
-
Honestly one of my favourite goals of all time.
-
video is gone
-
it wasnt an incredible goal by any means. yes world class touch, and placement, but there are a lot better. the timing and epicness of the goal are only because its his return to the pitch with arsenal. goalie could have given better effort imo.
-
Wish I knew what was going on ITT but Thierry Henry is by far my favorite soccer player of all time
-
dude you have missed the point completely, Thierry Henry showing the passion (not grabbing money like most footballers are now) was a great sporting moment.
Gotta love this bloke the script was written for him. Nothing but love for Henry, maybe only football fans can appreciate it -
How easy you guys forget that he also shafted Ireland in the worldcup. Great goal though, as you know
Form is temporary, class is permanent. -
Bravo Thierry Henry! What a comeback!
-
you cant honestly tell me that goal was better than rooneys
-
yep i was supporting Henry vs Ireland aswell
-
Yeah he fucked us over (Ireland) but thats one small blip on what was otherwise an outstanding career. Still see him as the best player ever to play in England, and I'm not an Arsenal fan.
-
dont think anyone is saying it is a better goal. But the situation is incredible. The clubs greatest ever player returns and scores in 10 minutes.

And rooneys goal was overrated anyway. It came off of his shin ffs
Yep there are other players who could maybe be in the discussion, but for me he is the greatest player that has played in the PL.Originally Posted by freeworld777

I only remembered when i went to put some money on LSU that i had backed King Thierry to be last scorer. Makes it even better -
found one...
It was more of a "moment" goal than a "class" goal.
-
Yea, awesome moment, glad i was a witness to it.
-
DB is my favourite ever player and i was gutted the day he retired, but i would still say Henry will go down as the better player. They are a completely different type of striker so it is hard to compare them but I would say that they could well be the best ever partnership

Oh that I would agree on. For my money, though, there were too many times that Henry was a no-show. More with France than with the Aresenal, but still . . .
-
This pretty much sums it up. BTW, where did Nasri finish in the Ballon d'Or voting?

He was allowed into the building to look at it . . . that's about it. Think he had to buy his ticket, though.

Great video of it on the report page from Soccernet. Great quote at the end...
"One of the moments in this and indeed many other seasons' FA Cups. One that will truly live long in the memory."
Not a big Gunners guy, but they are the only English team I've seen play on their home turf, and it was a great experience. Still, I got some goosebumps from the goal. I recall how I felt when Jordan game back and popped 55 on the Knicks at the Garden. Arsenal fans are having a treat atm, since they have got to feel similarly.
A dude, ensconced and immortalized already in bronze, pops back up in legendary style.
Tho the Bulls thing was a bit different, since we went on to win three titles in the most dominant of fashions after that half year comeback that ended with the dramatic EC Finals loss to the Magic. Don't think this will spur Arsenal to quite the same heights, but still a pretty cool moment.
Anybody picking up him or Donovan for their fantasy squads? -
that goal is why ill never understand soccer. looked pretty standard to me. Ive seen 100+ more atheltic soccer goals on top 10 every night. Maybe it was the ""return" but hell it looked like a standard play. Not trying to knock soccer at all, but Ive just see more "athletic, bend the ball, kick it out of mid air, whatever the fuck messi did flying upsdie down" type goals.
-
To quote the coach "You see that when he gets in these kind of positions, we've seen it so many times, him finishing at the right moment. It looks easy but it's not."
To take a perfect touch and then cooly place it into the corner of the net like that in such a composed manner, is very hard to do. Making it look so plainly easy is why Wenger also called it typical "Thierry Henry Finishing."
