Right now I GM a Marriott hotel here in Oklahoma. But my wife and I were talking about possibly moving someone out of the country. I'd transfer to a hotel at this new destination or even go to Hilton or IHG if something was available.
We wanted something like Aruba, St. Maarten, Barbados type area. But I don't wanna leave out places like Costa Rica and Panama. I'd like peoples input on what it's like to live in these countries and standard of living (i.e what is an average income to live decent to above decent in these areas) or what people's experienes were if they visited these countries. -
No clue about any of that but that is awesome I would do it in a second

I would love to drop what I'm doing now and do it. But right now I'm 23 hours short of my Hotel, Restaurant and Gaming management degree, so a 4 year degree plus 4 years in the industry should make me noticable on paper. Plus all that I've done should help too. Increased revPAR 238% year over year, occupancy 96% ADR by 14%...running top 10 in Guest satisfaction, scored a 99% on my Marriott inspection last week. Number 1 in employee satisfaction ( out of 695 in area). If I can combine all that together, I think I can land a job in that area.

The Northeast if you want to run shit
The south if you want to be racist and ignorant
West coast if you want to be totally awesome -
I've been to Aruba and St. Maarten and liked both quite a bit. Aruba is my favorite place in the world and everyone who I talked to that has been there said the same thing. The weather is literally perfect everyday and some of the nicest people I have ever met.

Finish the degree first, then make the move. My $0.02 . . .

Who says another country will have you?
