  1. Shaunne bought me a copy of it today. Now would it be better to see the Theatrical release b4 watching the extended 18 minute version?
  2. why would shorter be better? ask any chick.
  3. watch the extended....hopefully they put more into the ending
  4. I say go for the extended... the movie flowed well, not too many slow spots so the extra 18 shouldn't drag it out.
  5. Doesn't matter, your going to have to watch it at least 3 times anyway
  6. I would think there would be no reason to ever watch it without the additional 18 mins.
  7. it is the greatest movie ever, watch both on dual monitors
  8. i dont see how its the greatest movie ever when alot of the scenes are knockoff from previous drug movies.
  9. yeah it was a solid movie... but i didnt think it lived up to the hype
  10. ^^exactly
  11. to each his own but i thought it was the shit (havent seen that many drug lord movies)
  12. I thought it was decent , definitely worth the watch but not an all time classic. I did think the ending was kind of abrupt. It should have showed something of what happened to Frank Lucas after he got out of prison. Perhaps the extended version might have something of this nature.

Edit: Hopefully that wasn't a spoiler.
  13. the extended version's ending is not very good, probably one of the few times I would choose the theatrical ending over the original ending.

in the extended version ending, he comes out of prison, and him the crowe walk the streets for a few minutes, no real important discussion, just chit chat, they are walking across the street and it freezes and ends. walking out of the prison gate with the music playing was worked much better. Kind of a tough movie to end though.

since we're on the subject of original ending vs. theatrical ending, the movie that got ruined the most in the ending decision imo was Se7en. David Fincher wanted it to be an ariel view from the helicopter after doe is shot with 'my god get somebody, anybody' being yelled then cut to black. But the studio made them add pitt sitting in the car and freeman and the captain having this dumb dialogue about how he wasnt retiring. completely wrecked that movie I thought.
  14. couldnt agree more about Se7en...
  15. lol@ going back to the 19th for this...edit:rigged he never gave up followup if he liked it IMO.

i guess i need to rent it to see the other ending regardless. plus i saw it in the theatre so i have to make sure i liked it.
  16. THE NOTEBOOK has the extended 6:39 min SEX SCENE with Rachel McAdams tits n shit that didnt get in the theater version. Whee.
